Highly recommended!
I assume each time the card number changes. In case of refund where will the amount go from seller, since the card is not available any more ?

PS: Ordered 2 dash cams , one for front and one for rear .

Good point. Ideally it should go to parent card. Never got a chance to try this though!

Yes I got a refund to parent card. Works like a charm. I only use the virtual card for all purchases on aliexpress

Actually, that call does not come every time you do an international transaction. The first time when you try to do this and your card is not enabled for international transactions does this happen.

It goes back to the parent card. The mapping is automatic. While the card is one time usage its history remains. You can see that also in your Netsafe login.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

@black12rr.Virtual card is a one time generated card for X rupees drwan from your Net banking SB A/c only.
It expires after 24 Hours of creation. After usage, the balance is credited back to your SB A/c.
As such ,the refund ,if any should go to your Savings a/c as Virtual card no longer exists.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Hello Guys,
I have gone through all the threads on the dash cam, but somehow nothing fits the specs that i want. Could you help me out?
My requirements are:
  1. required for a santa fe
  2. require both front and rear cams
  3. want the camera to be small and unobtrusive
  4. would like better attaching method than suction caps. Don't mind if permanent.

The only one that I can find with the above is the spy tec k1s dual car dash camera

Are there any others? Is spy tec available in india?

Transcend DrivePro 520 is a dual camera dash cam available on Amazon India. It is pricey, retailing at about 15k. (Transcend 32GB Drive Pro 520 Car Video Recorder with Suction Mount (TS32GDP520M) https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0147R9PDO/..._DpDNwb5W47VE4) Its has both cameras mounted on body, so one records the proceedings up front and another records the inside of the car. Another way is to use 2 separate cameras, one for front and other for rear. Novotek GT300 was available for $6 yesterday on Aliexpress and many people have ordered. Blaupunkt earlier was available for around INR 2200/-but later price was doubled. You can decide and accordingly plan.

I had been using a Chinese dual camera dash cam but it konked off. Then I purchased a Transcend DrivePro 220 and am happy with it. For rear,am not using anything as there is no separate connection.

Thank you @bonecollector
What i meant is a camera for the front and the back of the car. The inside view is not needed. Secondly i would lie it as small as possible so that it cannot be noticed easily

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Owing to the recent happenings in my locality, I'm looking for a dashcam which isn't very conspicuous and does every other thing that a regular dashcam would. I checked out a lot of dashcams on aliexpress but wasn't sure of two things mainly:
1. How inconspicuous these dashcams would be in real life?
2. Would they record video when the car was parked in the night after sensing motion?

Dashcams come in various different sizes and most of them are easily hidden behind the IRVM. With correct wiring, its invisible even from inside. If you want to hid it further, you even also get some IRVM integrated dashcams.

Most of the basic dashcams do not have this function/setting. But you do get this in many other dashcams...check it before you buy.

I've been using a Transcend Drivepro for quite some time now. Earlier it was mounted on the windshield but later I've mounted it on IRVM which does make it somewhat discreet. This one also has the function of motion sensed recording but I've not tried it out. Details in this post.

You could check out the Mini series or Mobius. They have a very small footprint and can be easily mounted behind the IRVM (when seen from inside). To someone looking from the front of the vehicle, it would merge with the black back of the IRVM and would not stand out (provided wiring is routed through the roof liner - A pillar - footwell - power socket).

For your 2nd requirement, I guess, either the dashcam needs to have a meaty battery to constantly keep checking when the car is switched off, over a duration of 8-10 hours or have a direct connection with the car battery. Most cams that have this feature, record 1 or 2 clips and then stop (if no motion is detected further).

1. I am using a SJcam M10 cube and it is not much visible from outside.

2. Not sure about motion sensor but you can use a large storage memory card and give power supply to your dashcam through a power bank.
