This seems to be a case of suction cup unable to hold its own weight!

Added a few drops of water before fixing it again - Balupunkt cam is in place since my last post! Survived Chennai sunny days open parking too!

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Received my Blaupunkt BP 2.0 FHD Digital Video Recorder from SnapDeal.
Ordered on 27th of Aug got delivered yesterday. Was a bit disappointed with the packing of the seller as the below collage will tell. Anyway the camera is intact.
Version : 20141030-V01
Cost Rs 2600/- SnapDeal
32GB SD card from Flipkart.
I have an I20 Asta, cant seem to find the sweet spot for the installation, still working on it.
Some pics of the mount. Any pointers would be helpful

The packaging is horrible for an electronic equipment. Was there any bubble wrap around the main unit. If not Snapdeal must do a better QC on their seller's performance. What SD card was it on flipkart and price. I picked up a Strontium 32 gigs for 630/-.

Hi Vinitbhavi, I agree with you the packing was nothing but the box put in the Snapdeal bag, there no bubble wrap. I will provide my feedback about the packaging. As for the SD it is the same, +70 shipping.

With regards to the camera still need to do some more testing, had been for a drive in the night and it started to rain. Came home and hooked the camera up to my 40" and it was interesting.
Need to check out the day time video.
Also need to find a good spot for the camera.
Thanks BP 2.0 FHD owners for posting their reviews it really helped a lot.

Those who have already affixed the dashcam on a car of your model / make will give information on the last few points. Many in the thread are saying video quality on the BP 2.0 Is better than what actually gets uploaded on YouTube is that true for you as well.

Hi CMS,

Sorry to be off-topic but your sat-nav looks interesting. Could you provide details such as specifications, functionality, cost (if you don't mind).

Your placement of sat-nav is also something I've always felt would be a good location.

Thanks.

Its not just a sat-nav unit, its a DIY IVI unit running on an android board developed by me. More details can be found at :

Got mine today. Build quality is great, feels very sturdy. Mount is fairly simple - just like any other regular dash cam one. It has a screw hole right into the body so can be screwed on to the mount directly - no need of separate adapters. Will mount it tomorrow and share some videos soon. Only sore point is have to manually start and stop.

AutoStart and Stop is the basic requirement of a dash camera.

Let me know how much juice you get out of one full charge. Should be about 55-60 minutes. If not you may have to do a fix for battery.

Tape for Dashcam re-mounting

I had to remove the dashcam mount from the windshield as the windshield had to replaced.

To mount it again, I am looking for 3M clear type dual sided tape/pad as was originally given with the product. I found one in ebay which looks expensive and shipped from Hongkong.

Any suggestions on how to procure this tape or any other suitable alternatives which are locally available?

TIA,
Rajat

In fact, my suggestion would be to visit a 3M car care center and ask them for a double sided tape and pay a small amount.
