panky dont mind but i disagree with u 100%.If its one's own ears and one's own money as u have said,he has every right to spend it.Its just that some ppl want to spend better part of what they earn and ohter just keep accumulating it.

and when i said its not passion, its something else,i said it in positive sense and in no way criticized anyone spending that much money.Infact i found that passion is understatement for Kb.
If money can buy happiness and satisfaction these days, dont hesitate to spend it.

Even i spend around 55k for my ICE which for someone like me,was bit too much. But then who is enjoying it??Not someone else but me and i am very happy about it.Like this...

JB and Gunbir took time out from their busy schedule to meet me. It was a learning experience. If you are considering Hertz, KB, take look at the Mille series of their speakers. Few companies (Focal, Boston Pro, Infinity Perfect, ScanSpeak, Morel Israel, excluded) have more complete catalogs.

I know Navin... Amazing catalogs.. I was very impressed!

Good that you opened this salvo...

Now that the Rears have been fixed... and the sub too!.,.. now comes the most important part of the soundstage.. THE FRONT COMPONENTS..

I have gone around in circles... to my mind have done about three complete ones till now.. This eve again back to square 1 - Part of it is the SEVERE handicap of deciding on something without listening to them... Again where significant money (for me!) is involved -these decisions take on a life/death hue! .. (I am sure Gunbir too is banging his head somewhere now!)

Since I have no other go.. GURU BABA LOG - Please pool in your views on some of the BEST set of components you have had an opportunity to hear..

I am looking for tight, snappy, fast, upfront, kick-like-a-mule midbass with dynamic mids.. and very mellow tweets (even the "T" in the spelling gives me a headache!)

Only Comps I have had a listen to were the Focal polyglass V1's... very smooth .. no midbass... sharpish tweet..

I have listend to the Alpine X-types too.. IMpressive looking X-over... but well.. did everything but set anything on fire.. I would say 'OK' but not for me! - Lacked "Body' (Is that headroom related?)

YELP!!

tweeter: http://www.tymphany.com/datasheet/printview.php?id=56
woofer: http://www.tymphany.com/datasheet/printview.php?id=136
2nd order electrical crossover for tweeter, 1st order electrical for woofer.

or if you are not into making your own XO
http://www.focal.tm.fr/car/fr/utopiabe/index.htm there is a 3 way version of this speaker too if you want to modify your door panel to accomodate a 3 way.

others I'd consider are Polk Momo, Boston (Z6), Infinity Kappa Perfect, Hertz Mille (with ribbon tweeter), Dynaudio (system 360),
each of these companies has their webiste like polk below.
http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/pr...ies/sr/sr6500/

Mellow Tweets!!! You said it KB. Sharp tweets are something I hate for sure. I'm ready to get my hands burned if a nice tweeter can be found to sing some lullaby for my ears. I hate Bright sound with lot of treble in, especially after installing my ALPINE HUs.

Kb said : and very mellow tweets (even the "T" in the spelling gives me a headache!) ever imagined what it will sound like without a W in that?
