Well, according to her, i would need a more powerful amplifier for a box mounted sub or else it won't be felt and right now, I don't have the budget for that.
How about a front component kit and rear co-axials with the amplifier powering the rear speakers?
Like say a full JBL speaker kit with a Pioneer amp and Pioneer HU.

To drive a 12" sub you neeed atleast 150W rms clean power in a IB install. For a sealed box you'll need more.

You can always add a sub a monoblock later.

@Navin - That's true. So how about if I get a Pioneer HU, JBL/Hertz/Illusion/Pioneer front component set and rear 6*9 speakers, and a 2 channel Sony/Pioneer amp powering the rear speakers and if possible, upgrade the amp later on and add a sub.
How would that sound?
Another option is still a tray mounted Pio 12" sub with a Sony/Pio 4 channel amp powering the rear speakers and the sub.
How would both of these systems sound?

get a 4 ch. amp it will only cost 2-3K more than a similar 2 ch. amp but will provide amplification for the front speakers as well.

@Navin - Sounds good. Thanks a lot for your help. How do you think the set up would sound? With comps in the front, co-axials behind and an amp powering the front and the rear speakers.

Hi guys any idea bout how good is Delphi as HU and are what is the price range for these?

I haven't yet decided on HU. Yesterday i got to read "TopGear" and Delphi HU with Bluetooth and USB are advertised on the back. So I was just wondering if it would be better to go for them but am not sure of its pricing.

I have found a topic on DephiGrundig. Still information on price is missing.

Gurus,
Do I need a JBL 75.4 to power 4 illusion electras 6"ers?
Cos, I've been running around looking for this out-of-production amp and I just dont understand if 75Wper channel is enough or 104W per channel would make a lot of difference.
Im not gonna be using this amp till march/april.So, would it make sense to "stock" it for my upgrade?
