You can go for Infinity they are quite good amp. Have not heard them personally but I would consider them a good product.that will cost you quite less..

For the different pair of speakers in the front and the rear is not recommended but If you what them in the rear yes you can go for it.

Thanks LBM. I'd like something that is polite... not really interested in bright sounding stuff. So assuming the above, I guess the prices come as follows

Illusion Audio Carbon for fronts 25k
Illusion Audio Luccent for rears 11.5k
Infinity 75Wx4 + 600Wx1 35k
Sub 15-20k
Wiring,Damping, Install 15k

Already exceeds my budget by 6k . Thanks for the pointers. I'd be obliged if any ICE guru in bangalore can tell me where I should go hunting for these once I'm back in India.

They do not sell the 5350a in India but if the 4ch. and mono amp sound anythng like the 5350a it will be good. the 5350a is a smooth amp not as sweet as my last fav 5 ch. amp (the Alpine 450).

ROC - Unless you are chauffered around most of the time, I don't see why you should have Comps in the rear also. I have them on my car in the rear & IMO they are a waste of money. You can save 5-7k there by sticking to co-axials.

Of course, if you do travel in the back seat frequently, it's perfectly ok.

After having a PM conversation with Bass&Trouble, I have this in my mind...

Illusion Carbon 6" front components driven by Steg QMOS 75.2X

Rear leave as is and use fader to bring down to zero(has some random blaupunkt coaxials)

Ground Zero Subwoofer GZRW12XD-AL. 12" driven by a JBL GTO601.1

You could use either the JBL 601.1 or the 75.4 and achieve nearly similar results. 75.4 will cost you much lesser.

If you use the 75.4, perhaps Navin and some others will like you better for choosing a Class AB amp for subwoofer duty over a Class D.

Out of the 601.1 and Ref1600a which one is better for musical subwoofers? Is a 75.4 recommended for sub duty? What kind of power is it when bridged? The infinity ref1600a is 299$ at crutchfield. Worth buying it?

The Ref would be a better bet.

75.4 can do sub duty, it gives 300 rms in bridged mode. but it will take more power when compared to a mono block.

I would prefer to get it locally as you would end up paying freight and customs also which will add to the cost. Also don't compare it with computer part as they are light and the amp would be a heavy and the shipping cost will be high. and approx 30-40 % customs.
