Yup, how do i access the axial part from the magnet? the only way is from the top.

I'll try and get some pics unless L_B_M can find some pics of the TS-D690R.

Yup L_B_M, that's where I tried but didn't help much. I need to find some way of blowing compressed air.

Is there any way to remove the complete tweeter mounting on the top? This will give better access to the centre axis?

ps: navinji can we have all these related posts in a new thread on how to clean speakers. or is it ok here?

Actually you can remove the post by removing the sticker on the magnet and there will be a screw there. Unscrew it and the tweeter Assembly can be removed easily. But for removing the assembly you need to remove the tweeter wires also from the cross over which is on the side of the magnet. Also after removing the tweeter assembly the time you refit it. it will be a difficult but do able task of aligning the post back there.

So i would suggest to blow air in the direction of the red arrow. and simultaneously move the speaker diaphragm also which will cause the dirt to move a bit and will pushed outside the speaker.

Hey,

I have a kenwood dpx701 HU installed in my zen MPFI along with a sony 554 which is hooked to my 12" pioneer sub, and 2 6X9 pioneer coaxials all put in a speaker box in the cars boot. In front i have 2 6" sony Xplod speakers mounted in the doors, which are powered directly by the HU. I am not so happy with the sound that i am getting when in front, because it is clear that most of the sound is coming from the back.
I enquired from some shops in koliwada in mumbai and they suggested that i go for a 2 channel amp (JVC=Rs2200) and that it would solve my problem. I wanted to know what the best deal can be. I am willing to shell about about 4-5k for this.

Thanks!

PS: Is there something wrong with my posts? Why does no one reply to my threads?

L_B_M paaji, would you happen to have any cross sectional pictures of a coaxial.

Also, Do you have any internal pics of any coaxial speakers.

I'm trying to get a thin tube to access the centre and blow the dust out from there. For doing this I need to know how it looks inside.

Hmm..I dont have a cross sectional pic but I have some thing similar which might help you.

In the above pic the dust is stuck between the magnet and the center pole piece.

I am say it the third time. Only blowing air will not help, but blowing air and moving the speaker cone will dis allocate the dirt and this will blow it out.

L_B_M, thanks for the pic. seeing your picture I tried cleaning it and it worked.

I thought of something a little different. Since I din't have access of any air blowing device, I went and bought a frooti tetra-pak. I used the straw given with the tetra-pak and blew with all my might while moving the cone down. And voila 2 small pieces of paper come flying out.

I am now going to try it out with the 6X9 coaxials in the lancer as well. they are 6 years old and have a similar problem.

Hmm...the yellow arrow shows the place where the dust is stuck 90 % of the times as it is open in a 6x9 speaker for the mounting of the tweeter pod.
