With an adapter like this, you can fit a 5.25" comp in a 5x7 location.

Hi. For under 10K, you can go for Pio 7950 (2007 model) or 6050 (2008 model), both selling (grey) at 9K. They are good HU's.

Thanks B&T.

I decided to fabricate this myself using some HDPE or MDF and some cutting tools.

I was talking to a Ford mechanic for instructions on taking off the door panel.

I might actually do a DIY with a lot of risk and tons of help from this board.

Ported enclosure specs for a JBL GT4 12 subwoofer please...

Current setup is JVC HU. JBL 936 speakers. Kenwood 8401 amplifier has been purchased for powering the setup.
The sub goes into the back of a Maruti 800.

Hello all TBHPians,

I am new joinee here. I spend good amount of time going through various threads in last few weeks. I am extremely impressed with the info available in some forums.
Hats off to you all experts !!!!
My query - I have been driving my Hyundai Accent from few years and had very basic ICE (Sony HU & speakers). I will be getting my new Toyota Corolla HE in about an weeks time.
After going through ICE section I was almost sure to go for Pio 7950 USB one. But now changed to Bla Hamburg after knowing the features front aux, USB and inbuilt BT. Am I doing right thing ?
Secondly, I was advised by a accessories shop owner to go for two JBL ovals 96xx (in tray) in addition to inbuilt 4 door speakers (i guess panasonic) that come with the car. I am ready to spend about 25-30K on HU and speakers. Not looking for amps, subs, etc at this moment.
I am looking for sound clarity and not loudness.
I did try to look for similar query in existing threads for corolla but could not get the answer. Pls help.

1. Blau Hamburg is good. Though not as VFM as Pio, it will come with warranty and peace of mind. The Hamburg should be around 13500.

2. Adding the 6x9 on the tray will have to be at the cost of the rear door speakers, since it will be difficult for the HU to drive both. But, the better bass response from 6x9 is worth that. Good choices for 6x9 would be JBL GTO937 or Blau THx693 (around 5K MRP normally, but expect deep discount)

3. What you should REALLY do is replace the front OE speakers with a set of components: JBL GTO, Blau THc / VPc, Illusion Electra, Infinity Reference, Hertz Deici etc. Any of these should be around 6K

But, before you settle for a brand or model, please try to audition the speakers. Your ears should be the best judge. Get together with the Mumbhais of TBHP (Bass&Trouble, Moralfibre, ...) and they will be able to show you what is good sound.

All the above you should be able to achieve in your budget (come to think of, even a small amp to make it all sound sweeter).

I think the Reference are more than 6K.

Thanks Friends. Its very helpful.
Based on your feedback and some searching on TBHP, I have following plan:
HU : Blau Hamburg
Amp : JBL GTo 75.4
option 1
========
Front Compos : Illusion EL6.1
Rear 6x9 coax : Illusion EL693

option 2
========
Front Compos : JBL GTO 607
Rear 6x9 coax : JBL GTO 937

option 3
========
Front Compos : Infinity reference 6020CS
Rear 6x9 coax : JBL GTO 937

Which one ???
Will buy them from Milan Subway (most probably Bhavi motors) and will get it installed from FM Drive or Boom (got this from some other thread).

Check with @bass&trouble (PM him) - might be able to get you a good combi-deal with Illusion speakers and Ground Zero amp.

Alternative (with b&w) to the 75.4 is JBL A604 (~8K), Blau GTA4 Spl. MK II (~6500) or Blau GTA480 (~10K).

Quite difficult to differentiate between the 3 combinations - you really must listen to them to decide for yourself. The other factor obviously is the deal that the dealer gives you.
