I believe price wise Hertz is upper range than JBL but the most common recommendation would be to audition both & decide whichever you like better btw do consider Illusion comps, I have one pair & I highly recommend it

Some will like Hertz and some will like JBL so everyone has different opinions. Thats why try listening both of them first. If possible try listing Illusions also because they also sound quite different.

Thanks to all for the reply. One thing as you all said to audition them first, but when i went to the dealer, he sd that it wont be possiable cause comps are difficult to fit in and they wont be able to make me hear more than one comp or the one i select first. Where you guys able to audition them when u went for them??
One more thing, is there a little cheaper version for Illusions (less than 11K ones).

Ya there is one Illusion Electra for 6.5k with B/W. If you wanna audition them you can catch hold of Vebmetal, and Speedonline as they both have them in there car and they both are in delhi.

Some very good information electrical wiring on this NASA page. I got it thanks to engadget. This might be helpful for connecting ICE.

I think these questions have been answered over and over again. No brand is better than another - it is just the listener's taste. However, Sony and Pioneer speakers are an exception, which are not considered here.

Where do you plan to place the new sub? Tube on tube?

Do try to listen to both enclosure and tube before deciding.

Well, the problem is the size (5x7) constraint of the front door on the Fiesta. This size is only available on the Energy series. Since I am going for pure SQ, I am inclined towards the Hertz instead of the JBL.

I have listened to Polk & JBL but not very impressed though I admit I have not listened to the Hertz. But going from reviews on DIYmobileaudio it seems like Audison, Hertz etc... are the way to go for SQ wise.

Also am confused a bit on the amp.

Should I go in for Alpine, Infinity, JBL or Hertz?

I am going 4-channel, to power the fronts & the current Kicker (K693) on the rear without a sub. I think the 6x9 can provide enough rear fill.

BTW, I replaced my Pioneer 6950 with an Alpine 9887 couple of weeks back. The sound is dramatically altered especially mid frequency.

Cedia

Hi Guys...am planning to buy a cedia in the near future. What would be a good sound setup for about 30K. I am planning to carry over my 2 channel Sony Amp and 4 way JBL speakers from my old car, and would like a new head unit, a good sub and also a good component upfront.

I would probably like to use the sub to run the components and sub and run the rear speakers from the HU itself.....would love to have your comments...also I use my Ipod a lot for my music, so would like to have an HU with IPOD audio control. whats the best option for this.
