If i'm not mistaken, the pedals look like they are of the suspended type (unlike the ones that pop out from the floor like in Tata and AL), which is a nice thing to do.
Thanks for the compliments.

The Clutch and Accelerator are "suspended" in an Eicher.

In case of a Volvo, only the Clutch is suspended.

More of the B9R's getting onroad

Attaching few more pics of the new B9R's.Looks like they will replace most of the B7R's in the longer routes. The ride comfort is better than the B7R.

Merc also plans to launch their Multi axle buses by next year.

Sharma runs multi axle on Bangalore-Mumbai route and interestingly, the price on the multi-axle is Rs 100 more than the Merc / B7R price. Yes, the B9R is roughly 20% expensive, but i guess it is less fuel efficient too, and hence the raise in ticket price.
I still have to sit in the B9R. it has double the air bellows (correct me if im wrong) as compared to B7R - that should do wonders to the ride quality

Nice pics, jkv! The interior pics show that Volvo has done away with the concealed lighting over the aisle. Somehow, liked it that way, as it was not an eyesore when looked up.
There you are again, tushky! Nice scoop. Any particular reason for it to be associated with Mahindra?

Mahindra would take the HCV mkt by storm. Their reputation is solid compared to the other new entrants like Eicher and Mazda. Reliability and Mahindra, two terms that go hand in hand.

This would be great.

And i guess TATA is going to be the loser, AL ill defnitly catch up but not the TATA's.

The bus costs around 85Lacs.The mileage for the B9R is pretty decent..heard they are getting 3kmpl which is good for a 340HP engine. The stability of the vehicle is very good....less jerks while braking. They r having a good passenger demand for the bus due to the comfort.

JKV: last heard when i spoke to couple of Mark III B7R drivers was that earlier versions (non-crdi) were better when it came to fuel economy. If the Mark III B7R is giving less than 3, i doubt B9R will give 3kmpl

This is one "hell" of a bus. The bus is good for short rides, but is a strict no-no for long distances (like Trivandrum-Bangalore).

Here are some of my pics of the "Globus" (Notice the difference between the KSRTC and the MSRTC Globus....the MSRTC one is the first-generation model)

[Request to the MODS: can you please display a shorter version of the image inline, and provide link to the bigger one, please? In any case, please remove this message before publishing. Thanks]

How did you find the bus?

I have never traveled on one. Chance of me doing so in near future is less.

Dude, the bus in the photo is a Tata. But thr one you drive is a AL. Can easily identify by the elevated steering. BTW are you working for KSRTC, because its hard to get KSRTC buses to drive by non RTC driver.
