It is not yet operational! There following story in The Indian Express describes a reporter's futile attempt to track the elusive Marco Polo.

I too have had similar experiences searching for that ever-elusive thing!

Anyways, my pursuit for the Marcopolo continues. The control room guys are ignorant about the existence of such a bus (something that is said in the article too!).

I managed to see the KSRTC Isuzu though! Saw it this morning on the Hosur Road (I saw it at around 0545~0555, while I was driving back from Hosur: Saw it around Bommanahalli). The bus was working a Chennai-Bangalore Schedule.

Honestly, the bus looked awesome! It had a peculiar horn, and the headlamps were damn powerful. I couldn't follow it much, since I saw it about a km before Bommanahalli and I had to take a turn at Bommanahalli to head towards Begur Road. The bus has a "golden" colour. It had no 'Name' on it (unlike the 'Airavat' for Volvo or the 'Ambaari' for the Corona).

Few days/months back I had seen news about launch of the mercedes buses in india. seems they are in production now. saw couple of then in Pune on the weekend. One run by Neeta travels and other by Konduskar.
The "Neeta" and "Volvo" combination has been famous for quite a long time now in this part of India (Pune & Mumbai) soon we will see the "Mercedes" name.
Has anyone from the forum experienced these bus. I think they are built by Sutlej on designs from Mercedes.

There are so many taxi registered vehicles going for a song. There is a slump or some of the owners want to upgrade. They are a risk because of the high mileage put, and no life time tax paid. On the flip side, they are driven by professionals and maintained at authorised service centers, does that make them a better buy?

Spotted the Mahindra Navistar's 6x2 truck today. It has a front grille with slats like the Mahindra's other offerings! Thankfully, its all black and not chromed.
Overall though, it has a much nicer looking cabin than the comparable offerings from Tata and AL . Sorry, no pics though, was not on the window seat of the bus I was travelling in.

If you travel on the Katraj Dehu bypass in the morning, you can also catch a glimpse of another smaller CV undergoing testing. Its comparable in size to the 407.

I spotted a BMTC marcopolo bus, dark red in colour with Temp Reg on Residency road. It was carrying passengers and was displaying route no 335 (KBS-Kadugodi)

Sorry no pics this time. Will try to snap next time I step out of office.

Have seen a registered Marco Polo BMTC bus on Old Madras Road, Bangalore. Looks neat. Didn't note the route number.

Was it the low floor one or normal body-on-chassis?

I guess it would be the low floor one which Tata gifted to BMTC. See: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post1039661

Nope. Doesnt have that traditional American look at all. Infact, its a cab over engine type design.

Looks just like the below picture, only with the Scorpio type grille, slightly slanting, and dual rear axle underneath the bed.
