Every MG product is a purely Chinese car selling under the Morris Garage name. This is common knowledge. Applies to Hector and ZS EV as well. Just that, like those two, this one is also made in India. Of course, being an EV, all the mechanical bits will be imported from China. But that applies to every EV, including the desi Nexon EV.

Probably due to the erstwhile JV with Jayem motors, where Tata supposedly sold the body shell rights of Nano?
Also on the same note, there is already an electric Nano in the guise of Jayem Neo isn't it?

Looks of MG Comet maybe subjective, but it's a perfect replacement for our beater Nano AMT.
If only the pricing is reasonable, I'm more than happy to replace Nano with this.
Nothing is more peaceful than driving an ultra compact car in the city.

That is one ugly vehicle, even a Jayem Nano EV looks miles better.
Who would by this instead of a cheaper Tiago EV.

For single occupant driving, a PMV electric quadricyle looks better at half the price.

Looks are subjective. If people can accept the design of tata tiago which is as old as indica or can see beauty in Xpresso or celerio then everything is acceptable. I heard same thing for wagon r and same thing for Honda brio when it was launched.

Toy/quirky cheap cars have never had a good run in India. I figure this is dead on arrival as well unless it's priced below 5L. Even then, it would mostly be a rich person's city beater rather than the volume mover that is supposed to compete with the Tiago EV.

MG India must have done their homework and probably have a particular sales number in mind for this car, considering the segment first features on offer. I hope the Comet is a stopgap solution for MG and that they replace it with a version of the Wuling Bingo within 2 years. The Bingo improves upon the obvious shortcomings of the Comet, with 4 doors, DC fast charging and other QOL updates. It would also take the fight to the Tiago, and in general be a better car for more people.

Hello, I had high hopes from Comet EV, however, with actual range of 120km to 140km, I find it difficult to get tempted to buy. I don't know of the price, but it appears from the leaked specs, it may have either one or two variants. I was hoping that Comet EV will be priced from 6.99 lacs onwards, however, now it is difficult to price it so aggressive. Good news for Tiago EV.
