| ![]() Could'nt resist posting this.... I never expected a company like Asus to not proof read their online Knowledge base or faq!! Its a long post, but I think its worth it!! Quoting from their website How to test LCD monitor? http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1001354/ When the display device is a signal sent from the computer, if the computer or video card has problem that causes display device shows no display, image display deterioration, abnormal sound, poor display mode, encountered such a situation, first in accordance with the following way of self-examination, and then contact the service Center or the original purchase. (1) Whether the power cord connected to the computer line connected, whether off or not connected. (Schematic diagram below.) (2) When the computer starts, whether to issue a different sound? (If yes, please contact the original buyer or the service center for after-sales service). (3) Make sure that the newly installed devices have installed the drivers, especially the graphics card driver. (4) Check the display frequency is set between 56 to 75 Hz. (If the screen resolution is set to the maximum frequency setting must not exceed 60 Hz). (4) If you install the graphics card driver interrupt encounter problems, Please restart your computer and then enter safe mode, first stop the drive inside the Control Panel à Systemà ? device administrator. (5) And then restart the computer to reinstall the graphics card driver. How to avoid the LCD screen afterimage? http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1001360/ LCD screen in normal use, the screen does not appear the image blur phenomenon。 The screen to use an image continuously changes in the normal mode. When the image displayed on the screen for a long time (such as a single-screen still) remain unchanged over 720 minutes(=12 hours),It will cause the control of the liquid crystal pixel to produce small changes in voltage between the two electrodes of the image is displayed, With the time changes the voltage between the electrodes will continue to grow, Let the LCD pixel mutate or tilt, When a still picture is idle for too long, When the image changes again the previously displayed image will also be seen that this phenomenon is the so-called image blur); In order to prevent this from happening accumulated voltage between the two electrodes must be freed. The suggestions as below: 1. Do not use more than 20 hours. If over, please turn off the screen power for 4 hours 2. When used over 12 hours, you must turn off the power for more than 2 hours 3. Increase in PC power saving mode a screen power protection on or off the mode 4. As much as possible to activate the screen saver when not in use (tips in the screen saver is set to dynamic picture) |
