I'm not a mod, but I'm with Thad. All the mockery is of VW the company/brand, and the VW stable of cars. None that I've seen are of the owners (and why should there be, they've been badly misled/cheated).
In my opinion, let it rip - this is a form of payback to the company. And hey, we could all do with a good laugh, while nervously eyeing our non-VW cars wondering what manner of unspotted regulatory/customer mockery they harbour! :)
