Hi Friends,
I am looking to take DSLR lens for my Canon 400D on rent. Does anyone has any idea about it in Bangalore? This is for 2 days

I'd be surprised if such an option was available.

tsk,
Even I have a good bag. Where do you put the bag in the car ? Hang it on to the seat ? I am more concerned about the handling during bumpy rides etc. And more so when there are 3-4 people in the car. Cant just keep the bag in the boot.

Even if its hanging by seat or lying in the boot or on the back seat, the bumps will be similar. All parts of the car are almost equally bumpy, unless you have an unusually hard suspension.
Moreover cameras have very few moving parts that get damaged by jerks and all. So don't worry, keep it on back seat or in boot, just make sure its located as it does not toss here and there.

@vinay.pillai: You can contact Mr. Abhishekh Singh (9341222014) he has a studio in Jayanagar and has Canon lens and cameras on rental.

You can also check this website Elephas Creations - Nature and Wildlife Photography Solutions (Sudhir Shivaram)

Cheers

Please be careful not to leave your camera gear in a car parked for long out in the sun, the heat generated inside can do a lot of damage to the lenses it seems, developing oil in the aperture blades is one of them. This is not very apparent from the outside but one needs to look into the lens in proper light as described in the links below.

I got to learn about it while shopping for an old lens on ebay, maybe you all will find this info relevant and helpful.

I travel quite a lot and two things that belong to me occupy the pride of place in the car - my camera bag & the laptop.

Both of these are placed over and above all the luggage very securely taking care that they are not subjected to any bounce or jerks. How? they are placed over the small duffle bags and soft hand bags. These bags act as shock absorbers.

And they are the first items to be removed when night stops are made.

He he true, but even with f4 they'll give you way ;-).. I'm not sure how it is possible but somehow I feel that f2.8 is bit more stable(actually quite noticeable at the speeds i'm doing handheld) in my hands than the f4, probably it's due to the heavy weight.
BTW, guys, I've the same question again. Any idea of current price of Canon 40D and 50D? btoh grey and with bill.

Wait till August end, rumor is that Canon is going to announce 60D. Then you will have more choices, or the price of 50D will drop.

Heavy weight is the reason here. I shoot 1/8th sec very regularly with that lens. Also heavy weight camera body helps me a lot.

50D in gray market should be around 41-42K.

Do note that there is a recall on the D5000 bodies, the D90 seems to be the best among the mid level DX models from Nikon.

Thanks Sir, is this the price with Naresh? If it has come down to 42k then it makes more sense than 40D (price wise). Any pointers on noise with respect to 40D? I'm fade up with the noise in my pics with my camera, I mostly do landscapes. 5D would've been ideal but out of my budget totally.

I think that would be the price for a 40D
The cam is ~1150 $ in the US. I think it would be close to 53-55K in gray here
