Re: The Fitness Band / Smartwatch Thread

Anyone is using or have feedback on the Mi Revolve Active watch?

I did not use any watch for the past 20+ years I am planning to try a smartwatch now! Hence, restricting my budget to around 10K for now.

Main requirements are good fitness tracking features (mainly sleep, heart rate, stress (not sure whether this will be accurate), walking, badminton, etc.), basic smartwatch features (like call/message notification) and an excellent battery backup (at least for more than a week).

Mi Revolve Active watch seems to meet all the above requirements. I am using a Redmi Note 5 Pro and hence not sure whether brands like Samsung will support all the features when paired with my phone!

Suggestions please.

+1 to roamer. Fitbit Sense or Versa makes a lot of sense for you. Fitbits have some excellent HR tracking.
Did you already buy one considering the query was posted couple of weeks back?

Hi Warrioraks - I have not bought one yet. I’m still deciding between the two. I also saw some reviews and I realized that there are some features which are “premium“ and would require a subscription. While I may not need those “premium features” for my usage, I’m not very fond of companies coming up with such ideas and I’m unsure whether I should support such companies with my business.

Re: The Fitness Band / Smartwatch Thread

Are the sub 2k fitness bands accurate enough?

I found the Fastrack reflex 3.0 quite attractive with its looks and the features it provide. Anyone used it?

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08W1RFQG3/?tag=tbhp0e-21

My original plan was to buy a smart watch under 10K. But, I am getting a feel that fitness bands will be more comfortable if one plans to wear it for longer periods of time.

Finally after more than 2 months of follow up Garmin gave a replacement half strap wrapped in shoddily done shrink wrap in a Chinese smart watch box. I am literally shocked by the cheapness here, more so after such a long time of follow up. I hope i dont have to use Garmin customer services again.

Re: The Fitness Band / Smartwatch Thread

Hi.

Any recommendations for a smart watch for kids (10 year old boy)?

The main feature that I am looking at is sim card/ calling feature, so that he can use it for calling, if required. I haven't given him a mobile, so bluetooth calling won't serve the purpose.

Looking at a budget of 10-15 k.

Regards

Planning to get the Charge 5 for my mom. Does Fitbit run any offers any time of the year? I don't see Charge 5 available on Amazon etc.

Better go with Mi band or Honor band. Mi band is better for steps tracking and also more customizable software. Honor band have best heart rate sensor as good as my garmin 245 and more polished app. In some areas Mi is better and in some honor. In Honor step tracking is good but the app shows sum of phones inbuilt tracker plus bands tracker

It was available on Amazon for sometime after launch. Though you can buy it from their official website. Yes, offers are seldom.

I got the Charge 4 for 7199 during the Amazon Great Indian sale in Oct. 799 card discount on top of the discounted price of 7999. I remember it was selling for 10K+ earlier. So, there are offers, but not frequent.

My daughter uses this kind of a watch.
Needs a Microsim, with an app that has to be installed on parent's phone to setup contacts, turn off(watch can't be turned off from the watch per se, for security reason) and a few other basic features. Didnot buy from amazon, but some parent in our apartment complex did a group buy for around 10 kids. Can't vouch for the longevity as it has been a month since everyone has been using it.

Thanks for the reply.

A few queries.

Does your daughter use the exact same watch as in the link forwarded by you, or a similar type? If a similar type, will it be possible to provide the model name?

How is the battery? How many days does the watch last on a single charge?

And also, how is the call quality? Can the kid hear the audio during a call well enough?

Regards

Re: The Fitness Band / Smartwatch Thread

Anyone in this group has used Amazfit smartwatches? Any feedback?

They have launched GTR 3 Pro recently. From the specs and reviews, the product looks to be good, primarily from health tracking point of view.

Though my budget is ~10K, I am waiting for something like HDFC smartbuy sale during Christmas-New Year, so that we can get it at an attractive price!

Meanwhile, I would appreciate any feedback from fellow BHPians on GTR 3 or any Amazfit smartwatch!

I am using Amazfit Neo watch for a little over 10 months. It is a basic model which provides steps counter, stop watch and heart rate. It is working without any issues. One time charge is good for atleast 8-9 days.

My initial review is here (The Fitness Band / Smartwatch Thread)

Re: The Fitness Band / Smartwatch Thread

My two bits;
I have been using a Garmin for the past 12 years and prior to that was using Polar. While there may be many good fitness watches available I’d trust Garmin for the sheer technological advancement. What’s great is they have a large range from 12k to 70k depending what u want your watch to do besides tell the time, your heartbeat, steps etc. I use the forerunner now from the past 7 years. I have one advise for those using the watch to tell their pulse. Please get a separate HRM band. While the wrist will tell you your estimated heartbeat, the hrm is bang accurate. I mean imagine taking your heartbeat from your wrist ( yes doctors do that too ud argue) but wait it’s from the top of your wrist… so use an hrm if ure into heavy exercising or cardio. It costs a tiny bit more but use it only while exercising because wearing it all the time is not really comfortable.
