re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Guys, I need help. I need a LED / LCD tv for my bedroom as my wife is to be on bed-rest for the next 5 months and it will be as an incentive for her not to move around. We will replace our 29 inch crt later and this is for the bedroom and no fancy stuff required. Budget, cheaper the better. What are the suggestions for a 22 / 32 inch set within 20k budget. Will be buying in Pune.

Check the Toshiba Regza model @ 21k. Also, go to Croma and take a look at Vu. Both these should be within your budget. I guess you have some panny model too at 24k. (Indicative street prices)

Try to get it from grey market in delhi. You can a good sony or samsung for around 22-23k.
Toshiba is a new entrant so service might be an issue. Better stick to sony/samsung/panasonic or lg.
Would suggest to stay away from VU as not much has been reviewed for it.

I got my Samsung series 4 32" from Gaffar last week for Rs. 23k.
Sony BX-300 is also available for around 22k.

I feel both these options are better bet than buying a Toshiba with bill!

Get sony nx series if your budget permits. its awesome. Get sony ex series otherwise. Both are superb quality wise in their respective segments. They are priced a little above their competitors but its worth it.

Want to get 50' Plasma TV of LG/Panasonic/Samsung and TATA Sky + HD. Please advice the best with pricing. In which LG is the cheapest one, Samsung and Panasonic are the highest or equal.

I have shortlisted the models as below
LG 50PK550R
Samsung PS50C550
Panasonic U series 50U20

Should I go for Full HD that is 1080p or with HD(768p)?

Hi!
LG 50PK550R- According to LG plaza this model has been discontinued and refused to book it after speaking to LG area sales manager.

Later I found it in a shop and the quote was 67k in Pune. With discounts It should be available around 60k as indicated by the shop.
You can check the reviews in one of those electronic forums and they are not very encouraging for this Plasma.

Cheers,
Naj

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Checked out Samsung series 7 40inch led and was very impressed with it. Vijay sales has it for 88k.
The led series 5 Samsung is for 64k.
Anyone seen better pricing for the same?

There was a distinct difference in picture quality between the two. But is it really worth paying near 40% more for 200mhz vs 60mhz and wireless data connect?

How exactly does on work the wireless media on series7?

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

I have recently bought 7 series in 40" for 85K in Delhi. The picture quality is the best your money can buy, the motion pictures looks far more real (thanks to 200mhz) and IMO yes, it is worth every penny spent.
Clubbed the same with Tata sky HD+ box to be completely entertained during world cup

Never tried connecting TV through Wireless media, an iomega Director & XBox 360 with Kinect does the job flawlessly.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Thanks turbo head. I managed to order it for 78k. At this price its a no brainer !! Well worth it.

Samsung has gone the Sony way with it's pricing called MOP below which dealers cannot sell. The current MOP of 40inch series 7 is 88k. Through a reference I'm getting it for 10k cheaper although billing will be at 88k itself.

Most stores are still selling at the original price of 1.10L and haven't yet passed on the price drop.
