I am planning to move out of Tata sky. Currently I have a HD box with 2 multi tv normal box. Will anyone buy the set top boxes. How does this work?

Also can someone clarify whether the set top box belongs to the customer or not, unlike Airtel?

I don't think any of the DTH providers care about the STB.
I have seen people selling these boxes on olx/ quickr at throw-away prices.

When I wanted to surrender my DishTV connection, they asked me to keep the STB or give it to a friend. They had no use of it.

I received one today on the box.
They've mentioned price protection for the previous buyers.

Rate change is applicable only to monthly subscriptions. Annual subscriptions are price protected till the end of the subscription cycle.

For the south mega pack, it looks like they have removed the semi-annual option :(
Most packs have 80% redundant things you dont need and you pay so much

I have a Tata Sky HD+ connection.
Since the warm up matches of the ICC World cup 2015, I'm observing an issue with channels 404, 406, 408 and 410 i.e., Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 2 HD, Star Sports 3 HD and Star Sports 4 HD respectively
The volumes of the commentary and the Ads are opposites. When I adjust the volume for the commentary, Ads start with a high volume enough to wake up the entire apartment complex. When I adjust it to the Ads, I can't hear a thing from the commentators. Before the world cup it was fine. even now, the SD channels are fine.

Anyone else facing this issue? It is irritating this issue.

My television had an inbuilt volume balancer feature. If I activate that, this problem will be solved.
But in that case, if I change the volume in Tata Sky remote, it will have no effect as the television compensates that.

PS: Has anyone purchased the Tata sky UHD set top box and opted for the Star sports 4K channel?
My TV is not UHD so I haven't opted for this.

Ah, I thought I was the only one having this problem. And it is worse for me since I have the sound output through my floor standers! Increasing the volume for commentary suddenly becomes too loud when the ads come on. Perhaps raise an issue with Tata Sky?

I have put a message on their Facebook page. Let me see if I get an answer. Why don't you too do that? seeing more than one complaint of the same nature, they might do something.

I think these issue are more with Star. I have noticed this even in Videocon DTH during earlier test series. Commentary volume will be much lower than ad volume.

I'm not sure, But I think the DTH service providers can control this.

We're having starting troubles; each time the STP is switched ON, it takes a good 5 minutes for any channels to get relayed. Also the channels flicker for some 1-2 minutes. This has been going on for last 2 months or so & was not the case last year.

Anyone experiencing similar issues?
