Guys, I upgraded to 2.0 and the Phone is Ok! i had a Q.
When I save a number in my contact list I save it as say +919812345
When the contact calls the name doesn't show depending on which format i used to save the number. in short the iphone recognizes all the digits and thus if the caller is using a tower that sends the info with a 0 like 09812345 then only the number will show and not the name.
This is annoying. all my close friends' numbers I've saved with a 0 and with +91 I mean twice AAARRRRAAAR!!!
Can anything be done?

go to cydia and install "CallerID Fix Collection". The author is Cario Franchino. The maintainer of this package is iSpazio.net

best of luck

Sometimes I donno why this package does nto work when installed with Cydia. but the same package works with Installer 500% times

Let me know if it does not work and I will give you another workaround

Ya I will let you know if it doesn't work. thanks
So now if I save a number with +91.. then even if the person calls from a service provider who shows the number as 098.. i still will see the name right?
Interestingly my old nokia registers only the last 5 digits and the problem is a number like say 0484123456 is saved in your contact list under the name AA and 0471123456 call you AA will show on your Display. Now that's the other extreme

Yes that is how it works. However there will still be a very few numbers for which it might not work but that should not bother us. It works for 99.9% of the numbers in all formats...

joe, download iTunes for Windows, and sync your iPhone with XP. The address should sync to the Windows Address Book (wab.exe)
One thing to keep in mind; the custom labels for phone numbers will not successfully transfer over to the Windows side. They will be properly synced only on the Macs.

Apple: iPhone Firmware 2.2 Jailbroken, QuickPwn 2.2 Released

Anyone upgraded yet?

My phone has a lot of lag after I put v2.1, I hope v2.2 solves these issues. I still feel I made a big mistake by upgrading from v1.1.1, that was stable as a rock.

I did and its working all fine. The only issue: I dont see Openssh in Cydia anymore. I thought there could be some isssue so did a restore and jailbreak again. Still no openssh in Cydia.

I did see it in Installer though and installed it as well but somehow got messages: Still in Beta. Please confirm if you want to go ahead.

Otherwise its very good. New Google maps are good as well...

Upgrading to 2.2 in a couple of hours. Will come back with results in a day or 2. Hope all applications work fine on V2.2. Anyone can confirm that for me please?

A friend of mine updated. He reports a caller ID issue. He also has got a good increase in battery life, when phone is kept idle overnight with wifi enabled.
Does anybody else have issues with caller id?
