Re: The iPhone Thread

As per NDTV, iPhone 6 & 6+ prices are as follows:-

Memory iPhone 6 iPhone 6+

16GB - - 53,500 - - 62,500

64GB - - 62,500 - - 71,500

128GB - - 71,500 - - 80,500

With the Competition hotting up, I was expecting base Model to be priced under 50K. And I don't understand the logic behind pricing higher for more Memory, When you can get Flash Memory of 64GB for about 2K. Or is it just milking the Customers. And how long does all these Mobile Hardware Manufacturing Companies wants us to be nailed down to 16GB Memory. When everything else has changed, the memory in Mobiles has not changed in the last 7 years.

What is Unfair trade practices commission doing ? Instead of going up the ladder, Mobile Companies have even reduced the Memory to 4 GB in Low end Models.

Re: The iPhone Thread

@jaaz

Apple knows it has a premium, sought after product. They can price it whatever they want & still find buyers, rather suckers, like me

The pricing is inline with US prices, not sure why people were expecting a below 50K release, I had predicted 55K for the 16 GB iPhone6.

The good thing it makes Blackberry Passport attractive at 45K. Q10 at 20K looks even better now. I suspect many will buy the iPhone 5S 16GB if its repriced to 30K now.

I think accommodating 64gb in the same shell as 16gb is what they are charging for. 16gb is useless imo. The new games made using metal engine would bring console level games to the phone and 16gb will then never seem to be enough. At least apple is giving 64 for the same price segment as erstwhile 32 gb segment.

Well, for me, I'd rather get one from US as it turns out to be almost 16K cheaper. Never had any serious problems with Apple devices for which warranty was required. So, I'd probably take my chances.

I had a problem with my iPhone 4 within two months of purchase. I guess it's Mr. Murphy playing spoilsport

Btw, it's official - iOS 8 is fubar on iPhone 5S, at least the networking part. WiFi is so slow I could run and reach faster. Notifications is also messed up I guess, but could be because of the network issue - I got my WhatsApp messages sent in the afternoon at 10pm!

I just had to go and install iOS 8! Grr. Anybody else having an itch to move to iOS 8, you're better off using Itch Guard

iPhone 5S 16GB gold is available for 24999 at snap deal. This is a stellar deal for sure but don't no how lucky you should be to get hold one of them.

Cheers!

I had ordered and immediately the price in my cart became 31200 and that too is not proceeding to payment gateway and it says it sold out. I had ordered it at 10am sharp. Snapdeal is cheating as I had a similar experience with 14.6 k iPhone 4S.
30k for 5S? Was cash on delivery available? I am not able to find 5S for less than 34k. It would be great if you can help me out.

Amazon was having flash deals on 5S yesterday. I paid using my credit card.

They are going to have another flash deal on 5S some time today. Keep refreshing!

Re: The iPhone Thread

Pre-orders of the iPhone6 and Plus models have started on Flipkart, Amazon as well as Infibeam. Infibeam is the only one offering guaranteed delivery on October 17th which is the release date.

Has anyone bought apple care in India? If i do buy the phone online will I be able to purchase apple care later?
Also, will apple care+ bought from apple USA website be valid in India?

If someone has knowledge on the above do help out !

Re: The iPhone Thread

iPhone 6 Pre-orders have started. The Phones might be delivered on 16th October evening itself for the persons who've pre-ordered. If anyone is going for iPhone 5S 32gb or 64gb, it makes sense to buy the iPhone 6 itself. The price difference is not much, even with the Flash sales.

Strange but true - iPhone 6 64gb is cheaper than iPhone 5S 64gb. And iPhone 6 Plus 64gb and iPhone 5S 64gb are priced same. But still no discounts on 64gb Models of iPhone 5S.

If anyone has pre-ordered iPhone 6, please update.

I did ordered couple of 6 & 6 Plus at Amazon . Unlike overseas where Apple charges card on day of shipment , Amazon charged today itself even FlipKart has similar policy . Plus 6 - Gold 64 Gb were sold out / not available at around 3 Pm.

These kind of things do happen in the Airline Industry. It's very bad that it has penetrated into Online Stores too. Search the Web BLR - JFK, you'll see 50K, and once you click on the link, the Price would be 70K or above. Some Websites put up a Sorry Note, saying the discounted fare has been sold out.

It has happened many times on Snapdeal. Even for items which are less than 1K too. That's the reason, many in our friends circle don't shop on Snapdeal. Now Flipkart is also trying to ape Snapdeal. As of now, Amazon is playing fair. I hope it continues.

Bottom line is - Flash Sales are either Lottery tickets or they're Fake.

I read that iOS 8.1 is released for beta testing.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/apple-seeds...-links-1467774

This iOS 8.0.2 is still screwed up. Problems with wi-fi, signal dropping when on roaming, data connection dropping, ufff, am repenting updating to iOS8.

Yes, you can buy it after purchasing it online although, I believe there is a 30 day deadline before which you have to apply for it. IIRC, some e-commerce sites also sell the AppleCare plan.

I don't think you can apply Apple Care+ to an iPhone purchased in India but an iPhone purchased in the US with Apple Care+ can be serviced in India.
