Yes you can buy it. Just call them and ask for Symbian version of software.

Or you can install Garmin on your phone and buy Garmin maps from Satguide.

In both cases, it would cost you 2k.

You need two things:

1. Map data
2. Application that would do navigation with map data

Satguide sells Destinator App + maps for Symbian (Nokia). So you get everything from Satguide for 2k.

OR you can install Garmin and Satguide will sell you maps in Garmin format.

I like Garmin's UI. Its better tham Destinator and Nokia maps (Personal opinion) .

Should i buy the SatGuide Maps for 2k (or) pay 103$ and get a PND from Deal Extreme? Which one would be a better deal?

What do you have tight now? I mean which phone?

If you have a phone with large screen + touch, than I would suggest go for Satguide. It would cost just 2k.

With with PND from DX, you would need Garmin maps from Satguide since DX unit would have maps only for US.

Oh, Sorry to have missed that.. I have a Nokia 5800.. And when i emailed SatGuide - This was the reply:

Dear Mr. Ananth,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding SatGuide. As of now SatGuide is not compatible with Nokia 5800 as it has Touch Screen and the screen resolution is high. To use SatGuide Navigation there is no need of GPRS. SatGuide is covered 404 cities across India with all the National highways, state highways & district highways from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

I got my PND from DX and today I received my all India maps from MAPMYINDIA. I asked for the maps compatible with the PND and was told that they did not have such a map. I then ordered a map for a Windows Mobile phone and told them that I had a HTC phone.
I loaded the SD card with the maps into the PND, set the GPS navigation path in the settings folder and the whole thing is set to go. Very simple and good fun!

No it does not void warranty.

Free maps are from OpenStreepMpas. These are like Open source software.

NO license fee for usage and you can contribute by adding / enhancing maps for your own locality.

For all new explorers planning for 5800 GPS Capability, Let me quote from the link

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/1529671-post5323.html

was informed the Nokia 5800 does not support GPS anymore along with TV out hence the price drop.

So one might plan for exploring the same.

@Net, thanks a ton for your replies. Any chance can you guide me how to set up garmin or install garmin on my device please

5800 does support GPS. A colleague got it for ~14K and Nokia maps/Garmin are working fine for him.
