Thanks. I checked Nokia 7.2. Loses out on fast charging which is a deal breaker for me. Also Snapdragon 665(11nm Fab process) any day compared to Snapdragon 660(14 nm process).

In fact, Mi A3 did address the lack of audio jack that existed in Mi A2. So, you can definitely think about Mi A3.
Thanks guys, I have decided Mi A3.
I can live with (1560 x 720) resolution screen. I wanted fast charging and it has a better battery compared to Nokia 7.2. I will pass this phone in my family as this doesn't have LTE bands for North America.

So I bought one of those "May be" ones this week!

Realme X3 Super Zoom

Getting used to the new 'normal' of weight - all new phones are heavier in the ranges of 180 to 220 grams! This one's heavier than my old Redmi Note3 by the weight of a Golf ball.

Key specs:
SD 855+ (5G capability wasn't a consideration for me at this stage at all)
8GB/128GB
30W Dart charge - 0 to 100% in 55 mins (advertised)
5x periscopic zoom lens with very good image stabilization

A couple of samples from the camera -

Regular 1x zoom at night

(This appears really oversharpened in team-bhp page!)

Is anyone using a Samsung Note 10 Lite? If yes, then please share your experience. Thanks!

Recently they pushed a wrong OS update to global A3 phones, thereby breaking the basic calling feature itself. It was not the first incident of some issue happening over an update. Read up opinions on forums before you update your phone.

Why does Realme get a maybe, just because there is no known "controversy" listed there? It belongs to the same BBK electronics family as oppo and oneplus, so something or the other must be amiss, although I have nothing against any of those brands, I myself have 2 Oneplus in the family. The data breach thing is making me quite apprehensive though.

Gentlemen can you please suggest a phone within a maximum budget of Rs 13k. This phone is for my father whose uses primarily are as follows:

1. Phone calls (lots of them)
2. Whatsapp
3. Checking and replying to Emails
4. Checking the Forex market (no special apps he uses - Only internet browsing)

P.S: He needs a big screen which will enable him to read better.

The Samsung M31 should be a good option for him as it has a big display and ample battery size, and as a bonus, not a china based phone

Extend your budget by 1K and go for the Redmi Note 9 Pro-

You can also check the M21 which comes with a 6000 mAh battery size.

Spec wise, the Redmi is better. Samsung due to its bigger battery size has its own USP though and will definitely help in being able to take a lot more calls. Samsung is non-Chinese as well, if that matters to you.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Looking for a good back cover for Xperia Ultra XA1 - only a back cover, not the flip case like thing. Don't want a very hard cover or a silicone one.

Are there are decent ones? The few ones I have liked in Amazon have are pretty expensive (500-600 Rs). Is there nothing at a lower price range? Any particular brand I should look for?

Dropped my trusty OnePlus 7 Pro face down onto concrete. The screen cracked on the bottom right with radial lines extending end-to-end. Luckily everything is working but need ideas on what to do now.

OP has a useful repair cost calculator (https://www.oneplus.in/support/repai...etails?code=11), but is it worth spending ~17K on a new OEM screen? Frankly, I am very happy with the device, and the plan was to give it to my son when I upgrade.

Any aftermarket trusty repairers specializing in OP devices especially the rareish 7 Pro?

Actually the price of the screen alone would be around 15k as it is an OLED curved panel so no point in going to any 3rd party repair shops. Aftermarket screen replacement options will be very limited as oled manufacturing is not cheap

I have had my OnePlus work done from this place called Smartphone Care in Jayanagar 9th block (the road opposite Bangalore Central, JP Nagar). He did a god job with replacing my OP3 screen when it had cracked. Reasonable costs and lower than official OP costs. Also repaired the earpiece when it had kaput.

You can speak to him at 096200 33355. He does good work.

Thanks, will connect with him. Normally I'd have no worries but concerned about the curved OLED screen bit, as agambhandari has pointed out a few posts back.
