Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Are there any camera apps that help increase the dynamic range of my S3 camera? The sky gets terribly blown in outdoor shots with the sun out. Its ANNOYING.

This might be of interest (Exposure compensation + bracketing):

Have not used it myself, just going by the feature list.

Ok, I took the plunge. Removed the micro SIM from my Nexus 4 and put it into the SIM slot of the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+.

Been 4 days now. So far so good. Battery life is also really good.

Does anyone have moto G here ? seems like a good phone but horrific reviews all over web regarding unable to register with the network and frequent network drop.

Flipkart has in stock since 2 days (used be sold out in matter of minutes usually).

Yes Moto G in india sold by Flipkart did have major network issues. But it was with only one batch of product having IMEI numbers starting with 3533xxxxxxx.

My friend also suffered from this. But after 3 reorders, he finally received a working Moto G today. Its a great phone marred by few issues, but Flipkart confidently says that now the problem is resolved.

Some parameters or excuses given by Moto/Flipkart -
1) Vodafone sim
2) Airtel sim
3) 16 GB model only
4) If sim is cut from normal to micro

All said and done, the phone itself is damn good, especially at the killer price.

Moto G looks really good for the price it comes at. I ordered one for my friend here last week and after seeing the phone for real, ordered another one for my cousin sister. Didn't wanna risk it going out of stock again on flipkart.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Android 4.4.3 System Update done on my Nexus 4!

Dialer and Contacts seem to have changed a little, Dialer is definitely better now, not sure whether anything apart from colours has change in Contacts.

Supposedly, its seemed to have fixed some bugs, not sure which bugs it fixed because I never encountered any.

The battery was never an issue for me with 100% 3G usage, about 30 mins of video viewing and at least 1.5-2 hour long calls everyday. It would still last till I was back home, good phone Nexus 4!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got my Nexus5 updated during the weekend. Cant comment on the battery life, but definitely NO improvement in the signal reception. Tested it out at places where I have faced issues with only this phone. So looks like its more a hardware problem than a software one.

The problem has been resolved by Moto now. The IMEI numbers starting with 3533 weren't registered with Indian mobile operators.

Yes. Mine is a 16GB Intl GSM variant. I,got the update about 3 days ago. Besides the new dial pad and possibility to Pause video shooting, not noticed any major changes. The phone is now used by Mrs and she is extremely happy with it.

Have you tried HDR mode in the builtin camera app? Gives quite good results for me when shooting such shots

I found "A Better Camera" good with dynamic range. Have got good results on my Note 2 and S4.
