Hello followin Bhpians, I am in the market for new android phone below 10k. I have heard that two new phones i.e Sony Tipo and Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 might be launched in third quater this year. Can some one give me an idea that when they will be launched and what is the expected price for both? Also is it worth waiting or shall i go with HTC Explorer?

Hi there,

Both the Mini 2 and the Tipo are expected to launch in Q3 this year.
While GSMarena puts the price for the Mini 2 at around 15k, no pricing info has been released for the Tipo yet. I'm expecting it to be cheaper than the Mini 2 though.

IMHO It's worth waiting for the new phones, as the Tipo comes with ICS out of the box and both have good internal memory for app storage. ( The Explorer has a very limited 105MB internal memory)

If you are keen on HTC you might also consider the Desire C which comes with similar specs as the Explorer with better internal memory and ICS out of the box.

I went to a local store here in PUNE.
He was offering 8K for my i9003.

Below are his prices.
SII - Rs 26500
Note - Rs 31000
SIII - Rs 37500.

Very confused with what to do, may be i will pickup a S2 after a price drop. At its current price the price difference is Rs 4500 from NOTE. From the NOTE to S3 the price difference is Rs 6500.

Note is huge, 5 " screen may be good. The purchase process has been deferred as always.

Yes, Note is really huge but that's the biggest advantage. Even I almost got S3 but then went for the Note after seeing the screen. You will definitely get to the size. Now after a week of using the Note, I feel it's like any other phone like S2 or HTC.

Since S2 is very common I moved away from it. Note will definitely create some attention and I already started seeing people staring at me .

Just got the s2 for myself too with free bluetooth headset. Good deal for a great phone.loved the S2 more than my ex iphone4

Switch to Any Android phone from iOS and you will feel like you got freedom. :-)

Rooted my phone and installed Siyah Kernel, My Jet phone i.e SGS3 became a super sonic plane after that. And yes I have OC my cpu to 1.704 GHZ. Will test at 1.8ghz also.

Whats the effect of OC on battery. 1.7ghz will make the phone ultra sonic. Any heating issues observed?

One question on Samsung Galaxy Note - Does this come with factory installed 4.0 ICS or it does come with GB and we have to update it with ICS? I am planning to buy Note and not sure if I should do this update on my own or should get it done from the shop itself? Is it easy to do it on my own?

No such issue found. I had one issue with SGS3 and that was charging on USB is very slow, Trying to change voltages and will monitor its performance.
