I don't yet have first hand experience in rooting/installing custom roms.

Instead of bricking the device its better to clear and brush up all basics before taking the plunge in this business.

How much would you say A110Q would be?
( In other words - how much better is A110Q vs A110 in terms of being "future proof"? )
When I say future proof I mean that with 1 GB RAM and 1.2 GHz quad processor you would be able to have some resource hungry apps/games even after 1-2 years and yet you will get fluidic performance. Same can not be said about A110 with 512 MB RAM and dual core processor. The quadrant benchmark scores also speaks a lot - 3951 in A110q and 2424 in A110.

My pick would be A110Q.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Android 4.3 update is out for HTC ONE users. If your phone does not show the update then try the following. Go to Settings - Apps - find 'Google Services Framework' - force stop this app then clear the cache of this app, post which restart your phone and try manually seraching for updates ( unders settings - about - update phone ). Hopefully your phone will show the 704 MB update just like mine did.

Currently downloading around 700.62MB on Samsung Note 2 via OTA. This will upgrade the version from 4.1.2 to 4.3. Thanks.

Any news for 4.3 update for the Samsung galaxy S2? If it has come to Note 2 then we can expect it to come to S2 also right?

I just checked but did not find any notification regarding the update. How did you get it?

This may be why: Samsung pauses Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S III following reports of glitches

I thought the 4.3 update was out 3 weeks back? usually Carrier phones receive it after non-carrier phones. My AT&T HTC ONE update was updated on OCT 31st

AFAIK, the Galaxy S2 ain't getting the 4.3 update as it's already crossed the 18m update period. Any phone more than 18/22m old don't get any further updates as per most manufacturers' policy.

I have an iBall Slide 7" tablet running Android 4.0.4. Is it possible to put 4.2 on it?

It's lying unused so I connected its mini HDMI port to the TV and have turned it into a Smart TV.

Flipkart accepts Debit card and Netbanking. Nexus 5 should be available in 4 - 5 days on Flipkart.

I'm unable to find Nexus 5 in playstore on my mobile. Even searching is not successful. Should I check playstore only on laptop? Thanks.

It comes up fine on my iphone. I assume you are in India, and have a India registered Google account on the mobile. It should auto redirect you to the India store. Try this link or else please go through a laptop.

DrMohitG, Google INDIA store may still not be accepting debit and virtual credit cards, I believe. I can't see Flipkart & snapdeal selling for less than the play store though. And Nexus deliveries are always notorious for stock outages.

Anybody waiting for the Moto G? Despite great reviews and an announced India Jan launch and a fantastic price (~₹12-15K), there is little excitement on Indian tech blogs.
