Not very difficult...though u do need a nice mobile screwdriver set, which u can buy for 250 bucks...has all kind of small headed screwdrivers for electronics and mobiles. Looks like the oil has seeped into the gap between the screen and body...just remove the screws and clean it oout and let it dry for a few hours....u can find a tutorial video to open the bold..

I need to open my BB every 2 months to clean the trackball...so I am pretty used to it now.

@mobile008, you need to replace the display if the LCD has cracked or if the nematic fluid has leaked out (will show up a missing pixel areas). A replacement display costs < $100 in US (check ads in craigslist), not sure what it will cost here. Check with BB service in Hyd.

The screen is absolutely fine, no cracks. The fluid just seemed to have seeped in. Its clearly visible only against a white background. There is no pixel breakage either.

Will first go out local store and if they cannot help will check out craiglist.

Blackberry Bold 9700 | Blackberry Bold 9700 Price | Blackberry Bold 9700 Specification | Buy Blackberry Bold 9700 Online

Bold2 9700 is listed for Rs 26K. Is this price available in regular shops as well? Not comfortable buying online.

The 899 plan requires you to go the the Vodafone store since it's some kind of a corporate plan. The 1099 plan can be activated by SMS. Just call up and ask for the keyword.
