Hey N_C,
For that you would have to go for the the 499 or 1099 plan. The 299 plan does not support internet browsing and hence your Facebook client will not work even if your initial plan supported browsing.

I got myself a brand new BB Bold 9700 on Valentine's Day. No, it wasn't a gift from my better half.

I also have a N97. My comments:

Pros (BB 9700 when compared with the Nokia)
The phone is fast!
Email support is superb
Light and very good fit and finish

Cons
Primitive interface! RIM need to up their game on this one.
BB service is expensive (I guess that's a given)

I wont comment on multimedia support as the phones cater to different sections of the mobile user community.

Cheers

An unlocked Storm has been released officially by Redington in India. It is available at most Mobile Stores. The MRP by Redington is 20,995 so you should be able to find it much cheaper than that in the stores.

after using the 9700 for a few days :

1. The keypad has grown on me i've become faster
2. The battery life is stellar compared to my bold on 4.7
3. The camera is so much better, pictures come out perfectly focused and no compression artifacts when uploaded to facebook
4. The ringtones sound louder
5. The Phone is superfast
6. Multitasking with a bunch of apps running doesn't bog down the fone.
7. Trackpad is fun
8. The Size of this phone is very pocketable.

Oh btw i had order a charing pod and red leather pouch (oem) and have received it.

Okay, need some help here. Read some pages back that there's a plan with Vodafone which offers BIS @ 899/-. But the CC guys insist that this plan is not applicable for individuals. They just won't budge after a lot of pleading and the only plan I can opt for is the 1099/- plan or the Prosumer lite 299/- which I am currently subscribed to.

Is there any way out I can subscribe to this plan(899)? Asking coz I read here itself that some of you guys have this plans on their individual connections.

The 899 plan is for companies that have opted for a blackberry server and want to expose that to their employees. Hence, what they (the Vodafone call center people) are saying is correct. Go for 1099 plan only if you want to browse the internet. The 299 is good enough for email.
