No way will the Octy be priced more than Laura. 26.5 lakhs seems like a pricing out of nowhere I would expect it to be < 20 lacs

Quite simple. The dealer want to clear his stock. And he don't want the buyer to think of waiting for the new Octavia.

And why 2012 model? Is it the MT variant? The 2013 AT models are better on features - 16" tyres, touch screen audio, bluetooth etc.

Its ambiente mt...2012 model cause the on road price was 18.4 and after discount he gave it at 15.6.

A salesman who would say something like that has no morals and needs to be sacked. I so wish i had come across such a sales guy, i would have seriously let him have a piece of my mind.

I don't know if he's taking you for a ride or what. 2013 Laura diesel's are available for 12.99L (before discounts). My guess is you can easily shave 1L more on this with my kind of hard bargaining.

If he has not bought the car yet please go to Hemanth the GM of Vinayak Skoda and specifically mention that I have asked you to meet him. He will look after you to the best of his ability.

Just noticed today that Laura has been removed from display in Mahavir Auto, Jubilee Hills, Hyd. Looks like they have created space for the new car display. With Fabia news coming along, looks like they will much more space to boast the new car...

Anyone has idea if they still have any Lauras left, or is it a sign that they have cleared their stocks?

Jetta base model seems to be hovering around 18 Lacs. So mostly Octavia too must be around the same, considering that it might have some interesting features which Jetta doesn't have...

Just called them to check if they have any update on the launch. They still maintain its only coming in November. So, looks like they still have the Laura in stock.

I asked for a price quote for the Laura TSI and TDI on Skoda's India website. I got a call from their customer service representative after a few minutes. I was told that the TSI manufacturing has been "put on hold temporarily" as the company was working on a new 2.0L TSI engine. Not sure if this has anything to do with the phasing out of the Laura or the introduction of the new Octavia. Just thought I'd share it here.

Yes. The Laura title was used in India only because the previous generation Octavia was yet selling well hence Skoda smartly rebadged the newer generation Octavia as Laura and continued to sell the older Octavia.

Now that the three generation old Octavia is finally phased out they are going back to the original name and killing the Laura brand.

The interiors look top notch! Well designed,especially the new steering. The plastic quality as well as fit and finish look good. The Superb's level of interior quality seems to be coming into the new Octavia.

The Rear of the new Octavia is a Rapidish? Don't like that bit of the boot, but the tail lights are good.

The Front overall has gone to the pre-facelift Laura looks (as in being edgy rather than curvey). Overall a smart package.

They would get a lot more brand loyalty if they gave 10 year warranty on the DSG for all their vehicles since inception of Skoda with DSG in India. They are actually missing a trick there.
