Currently in Germany & my rental is the G30 520d;

The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh-imageuploadedbyteambhp1508508009.291172.jpg

I had actually booked a 530 but they had a wagon couldn't see my self rolling in one of those so downgraded myself to the available 520d sedan.

A 6 cylinder is a 6 cylinder, wagon or not. You should have stuck to the 30d, especially since you are going all out on the Autobahns.

Can you tell us what the rental rates are like in Germany including comprehensive insurance?

I tried to rent a 320d in Dublin, Ireland recently but the rates were sky high

Wish you lots of safe kms on the new car. Have fun

Posting some pics of my car. I would agree with Turbanator that Mocha interiors, while easier to maintain, would look too dark with the black roof lining. In fact I also changed from Mocha to Ivory after seeing a car at the showroom. Luckily the bottom half of the doors is also in black you so don't have to worry about that getting dirty.

Dealer says Apple car play is disabled for India because of some safety issue. The owners manual shows its availability but it can't be activated.

Mocha interiors have light roof lining. The black is only for the bottom half of the car. See pics from my X3 Interiors. The liner is visible in all 3 pictures. I am generally a sucker for black/dark interiors. Much easier to maintain .

All 530D M sport cars have the Black Anthracite headliner irrespective of interior colour. We were discussing the M sport here.

Car looks lovely, congratulations! I guess this is the Mediterranean blue shade. It is quite classy, a shade lighter than imperial blue.

That's BS, did you decoded and tried to check if your Kit is configured with Carplay at first place? It's meant to help the driver and not the other way as suggested by your SA. I understand Car Play on 7 and new 5 are amongst very few or rather only cars where Apple Car play is assessable via blue tooth and USB connection is not mandatory.

Key Sleeve BMW

Here's the picture for BMW OE part, best to be avoided. I could not find the Montblanc next day. Owners of new 5 / 7 traveling overseas should definitely have this on shopping list

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

Having an issue with my car's aircon. Does not cool effectively even when set at 22 degrees C. I have to click on MAX COOL for some time to get effective cooling in the car. Also there is some water dripping from the car. Dealer says its normal for water to drip due to condensation, however this does not happen on my older Beamer or E class.

Anyone else facing issues with the Air conditioning?

Hi There, thats a superb colour. Isn't it scary seeing the cars parked like that. I can't imagine my 60 lakh car being parked like that. Sorry for acting paranoid, i know its the same everywhere may it be a Maruti, a Bmw or an Aston Martin.

Please check cool/ Warm settings around the vents, maybe those are turned towards red. In case it's new 5 then it should be digital.

From where exactly is water dripping? I think under the bonnet it should be normal after you switch it off.

This is criminal. Sorry.
Germany is only place in the world where you can drive most fearlessly (of getting a ticket) so please make the most.

Not sure if you are still in Germany but One Suggestion: Not sure whats your itinerary, but if you going to be in Munich, dont miss a chance to drive a BMW M4 rental from BMW Welt (yes BMW themselves). Start at 6.00 pm and return by 9.00 am next day. You end up paying for only 3 hours. M4 Convertible is flat 180 Euros that too including insurance. More options below

Hey man congratulations on the 530D. Ive booked one for myself a Carbon Black 530D. When taking order, the dealer promised to have with the mocha interior. But now they are saying the Carbon Black wont come with Mocha this year and is only for production for next year. So they are saying the If i want a Carbon Black, it will be with ivory interior only. Do u have any info regarding the same and whats your take Mocha vs Ivory for Carbon Black?
