Can you also help answer the big question of when is this thing coming, when's the launch? Also any inside news on the performance and other factors of this vehicle that can help a prospective buyer will be highly appreciated.

On this schedule they will be overstocked by September end having a whooping 4000 2.2L safari produced already (assuming single shift, 6 day week).

TATA sold apprx 1500 safari's/month last year so you can well imagine their overstocking at this pace.

Well its not that i think you are holding out on me/us, I thought that this additional info may also be available with the source from which you got the production data.

Uh! Production put on overdrive? Now, we were under the impression that the production has been stopped to facilitate the clearing of their existing stocks so that the new vehicle can be launched? Or is it that they have increased the production rate of the new 2.2L?

Bond, its a classic case of whetting peoples appetites & then clamming up! We appreciate your helpful hints but at times this can be frustrating to the prospective buyer - methinks it would be best if you did not divulge anything at all at this stage.......just my opinion

Err, my dear friend, do you think . I know very well that there's a Petrol Safari, but nobody buys it. What i mentioned was an entirely different Petrol engine, which was available only to the Govt, till now. This, i came to know in a casual chat, so i don't have any specs right now. My hunch is that they'll launch the 2.2 Dicor and this Petrol simultaneously
