Disclaimer:: I can't vouch for any of the points.
Sep/Oct time frame sounds too long, esp. if they have already stopped production of current Figo. I hope they launch it sooner than that.

The SA told me that they are still taking booking for Figo and there is NO communication from the company. He said the plant was shut down for maintenance for a week and also they send lesser cars in December owing to the year change. He said new Figo (manufactured in 2015) will start hitting the yards by 15 Jan or so.

As said, this is as what was told to me.

Ford update from my ever reliable little birdie. New Figo and figo sedan are the only launches from Ford in 2015. the current figo will sell side by side for one quarter and thereafter will be discontinued, as will be the classic.

P.S. OT but relevant nonetheless- Endeavour pushed to Q1 of '16

I think we should take that with a pinch of salt. The salesguy probably just told you that in order to sell the Fiesta becasue if the Figos launch is not too far away, you might decide to wait for them rather than go for a fiesta now .

My colleague apparently happened to check the new fiesta at a showroom in PCMC Pune.
He was told by the SA that very soon they will be getting trained on the New upcoming hatch.
He was knowledgeable enough to mention that "Brazil madhe aaliye gaadi, pahije tar bagha internet var"
Translation : "The car is launched in Brazil, you can look up on the net!"

Exactly. My brother is looking for a car and the SA told him similar things. Right now I'm taking all of with a pinch of salt.

Here are some images of the next-gen Ford Figo compact sedan and hatchback. The cars were spotted testing in Udaipur.

re: Ford Figo-based compact sedan - The Aspire

Is it just me or does the new Figo hatch actually seem to be longer than the current model? The rear door looks loong!
I am also praying that the new 1.2l petrol engine will provide better power compared to the flimfy 71bhp of the current one! Between 80-85bhp would be sweet!
It also seems to have the same alloys of the current gen figo! Not good imo! Hope they come up with a fresh new read: different design this time!

There are rumours that it might get the 1.0 liter Ecoboost engine without turbo like in the Brazilian model which delivers 80-85 bhp. But I am not aware of any new 1.2 liter engine. Is there any such news of a new engine? As far as I know, if they go with 1.2 liter petrol engine it will be the same one used on the existing Figo petrol.

Why do you camouflage them Ford, when internet is full of high resolution pictures! I think if they blend with rest they remain best unnoticed!

Any solid information from the birdie as when it will hit the showrooms ?

Sep/Oct seems to be too long.

The hatchback will come with both diesel and petrol engine options. While the diesel might be the same as the current 1.4-litre unit, Ford might offer either reworked 1.2-litre petrol or the EcoBoost 1.0-litre petrol without the turbocharger.

Also, the engine offering here is referred to 1.4 whereas the speculations were for a 1.5 Diesel mill. Can anybody confirm this.

The new twins look very good! I hope ford equips and prices them sensibly to steal sales are from the Swift/i10/i20 trio.
I am very concerned that the Bolt/zest might come under pressure though!

Both the cars have nice looking fronts and very plane jane vanilla rear ends. This is a problem IMHO. The interior is good for the segment and will further expose the rather shoddy interior job on the Amaze.
