Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

How do you rate the maintenance for the Diesel MT Vento specifically the 2014 models before the refresh ? Typical servicing cost ?

if we are looking at a used Vento, what do we look out for ?

Hi! I bought my Vento TDI in 2013. It has run 89k till date and has gone for regular services at the VW showroom every 15 K kilometers. Service costs about 12000 Rs each time . The only extra charges I have paid were for facing the brake discs .

The one unexpected trip to the workshop was when the fuel pump got blocked, which was changed for free under warranty.

It has generally been smooth sailing.

Someone at VW thinks the new Sport is a RWD.

Very similar in details to the Rapid Monte Carlo. Should be a decent buy.

I own a 2013 Vento TDI Highline. Its 58500 KMS old and so far I have not faced a single issue except for the infamous thud with rear shocks (which can be fixed by replacing it with TRW struts). I have had no other issues except for a small rattle with the glove box that crept in a few days ago (The service adviser mentioned he will fix it during the next service). I have not spent on anything except regular yearly service and tire upgrade at 52,000 KMS. My early service costs have been between 12K to 15K.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Volkswagen has introduced the Vento Sport in the Indian market, priced starting at Rs 11.44 lakh.

The TSI petrol-automatic costs Rs 12.79 lakh, the diesel-manual costs Rs 12.92 lakh and the diesel-automatic is priced at Rs 14.17 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India).

Positioned above the Highline Plus variant, the Sport is now the new top-spec trim.

Quote:
The new variant features LED headlamps with daytime running lights and LED inserts in the tail-lamps. On the inside, equipment levels are on par with the Highline Plus trim. This means the Vento Sport features power adjustable and folding outside mirrors, chrome touches in the cabin, faux-leather seat upholstery, leather on the steering wheel and gearshift knob, a touchscreen infotainment system and a rear parking camera

ZERO maintenance meaning "no parts or consumables" as well?

Vento 1.5 TDI Highline Booked No Engine Undertray

Hi guys

I just booked a Vento 1.5TDI Highline which should arrive tomorrow or by this Tuesday.

I noticed that the cars in the showroom didn't have the engine undertray while my earlier 2010 Polo 1.2 TDI did, and of very good strong quality also, unlike the wafer thin plastic found in other brands.

The reason cited by the salesperson for this removal was that VW car engines were over heating and hence VW decided to do away with the undertray. If VW alone has such problems of overheating that they've to do away with basic environment protection components, is it advisable to buy a VW. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed this time as I've had my fair share of nightmares with my Polo which I ultimately decided to sell after driving just 100000 kms. while every other diesel we've had we've driven atleast 180000 kms, the Corolla Altis 1.4 D4D a whopping 265000 kms.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm really concerned because during rainy season, absence of the undertray really wreaks havoc inside the engine compartment. Or is there something fishy going on with scooping away engine undertrays from new cars by the dealership as they're quite pricy if they're to be bought separately.

Thanks.

I think you should mail VW customer care and get the same clarified. At least they could help in clarifying whether it is removed by VW or by dealership itself. Rather than engine heating fix, it can be a cost cutting.

This here, might just be reason. You have to buy it separately if you need it.

I recently bought a TSi and the engine sump guard was available as an accessory. And apparently something that almost no one bought. VW would have realised that this is something not many people buy, and hence it would be a easy, un-noticed deletion.

In my case, I ordered it in lieu of all the crap they were giving as essential accessories. So I got engine sump guard (6000) + sun blinds + mud flap + side protector for the "essential" 12,000.

But, it took them 1 month to source the sump guard and not every mechanic knew how to fit it in.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Is there anyone who's bought VW Vento Specifically in the past month. Kindly look below the engine compartment and confirm. it'd be much easier than to get in touch with upper VW management.

Thanks.
