re: MG India's first SUV named Hector. Edit: Launched @ 12.18L

Irrespective, ADs do not convey the vehicle reliability. Just talks of production process etc.

One more point noteworthy is WOMEN EMPOWERMENT. Never have I seen so many women working in Automotive Manufacturing (wonder if it is it some Govt. mandate in GJ )

Of all the things the most important thing that any buyers looks at is the After Sales Service.
With small dealer footprint, it'll be hard to convince anyone to buy a new brand while the existing European & Japanese brands are struggling.

Somehow MG has been able to establish itself as a Brit.Brand (as heard from multiple people in friend circle and workplace)

I still doubt if MG will be able to dent the existing players in India.
Putting more than Rs 15L on a new unknown brand is not something Indians will do (just because it is offering features), most people are likely to wait and watch and take that jump.

Additionally, it is launching at a time when the market will have the upcoming Kia SP2 and Tata Buzzard.
Also with space becoming a constraint in cities (metro), such jumbo SUV have limited takers.
Example the Compass/ Tucson Segment - The monthly sales for Compass is around 1.5k, Tucson <150 units.
Additionally with tightening bank loans and poor sentiments, the offtakes for Hector are expected to be dismal.

In case someone’s looking for MG showroom in bangalore, please mark this as the first showroom (to my knowledge) to open in Bangalore. Located on Hosur highway service lane towards electronic city - next to Nexa showroom.

Besides, there was a truck already unloading the hector. Guess they’re already stocking up cars to deliver as soon as it’s launched or keeping them for display and test drives.

There's 3 in bangalore now. One near Banaswadi, one in JP Nagar somewhere and this one just next to Nexa.

Nice - design wise, they have managed it well. Has presence and lovely colors too. Will wait for the price.

Nice to see a proper number plate mount upfront! What are the other colour options? Burgundy? Black? Blue Shades?

Am I seeing this right? Is there some kind of alignment issue here?

Spotted MG Hector in Bangalore. Before the drivers of the vehicle requested not to take any more snaps....below are the ones I captured:

Few notable features:
  • Electric hand brake
  • Bigger sunroof
  • Tesla like center console
  • Rear AC vents
  • 17 inch alloy
  • IMO it looks tad smaller than Harrier

Great catch there!
The car seems to be an automatic. If it is the diesel variant it is sure going to have a lot of takers because none of it's direct rivals have the diesel auto combination. Chances are that it is the petrol auto but one can always hope.

Blame it on the Chrome strip and shadows creating an illusion of improper alignment. Check out the below pics from the previous pages on this thread.

If the base variants dont have that chrome strip, then the improper alignment will remain

I too saw the alignment issues, but too early to judge as its still not hit the showrooms. Their are few more pics which show the alignment issues and inconsistent panel gaps.

Lets wait for official media drive cars hoping these are sorted out.
