re: Maruti Vitara Brezza 1.5L petrol. Edit: Launched at Rs 7.34 lakh

Very disappointed with the effort from Maruti. The rear tail lamp looks very similar to Creta. No changes to the front except for bright DRLs. Don't want to sound very much negative, but off-late I am not happy with the efforts from India's market leader

I’m disappointed with MSIL - lame effort of revising the bumpers, cladding which looks mediocre. What I liked is the headlamps & tail lamps and I’m going in for a swap once the parts are available

They could’ve worked on the safety front to ensure Brezza to be their first 5 star safety rated car. But, it doesn’t seem like they’re interested. Brezza’s competition Nexon & XUV are 5 star rated and have powerful engines too. Not to mention the eco sport too. I’m not going to pick Venue here.

Sad, that Maruti lost the chance to change a few shortcomings. Could have improved the plastic quality, given a good MID, changed the position of the ORVM adjustments, given four disc brakes, added airbags etc.

No upgrade in safety features whatsoever.

I don't think this engine can replace the multijet sales 1|1 as Maruti is planning.
Considering the lower mileage and higher cost of petrol, we are talking about an increase of over 30% in daily running costs, which is huge.
Once the initial launch hype is over the sales could drop to 6-7K level, until they come up with a BS6 diesel.

This is underwhelming from the market leader especially after TATA introduced the updated Nexon. I liked the tail light but that's about it. Why can't Maruti show an inkling of interest in improving the safety standard. A market leader has the ability to show the way and others will follow but sadly Maruti is a reluctant leader.

The ad has gone live on social media sites and I just checked the number is too old (MH12 MW xxxx series) on the car being used. Searched and found that the car is actually a diesel one owned by a dealer in Pune

This looks barely a facelift let alone be a ”new brezza” . I was expecting a lot more cosmetic changes considering what they’ve done with XL6. Besides a 4x4 or awd brezza would’ve taken the game to next level.

I have seen after market mods including the full tooth and half tooth grills aka Jeep that looked better than this "update".. The plethora of FoG lights and replacements I have seen in person show more imagination and seriousness in the project Vs this effort from Maruti.

Also the most recent Kwid comes with a similar grill, a car full 2 or 3 segments below.

So the Brezza now gets dual barrel projector headlights. And the so far missing DRLs. I'm guessing this qualifies this car to now be moved from ARENA to NEXA. And with a price hike to go with it.

But this is exactly how Maruti's mid-life facelifts have been over last 2 decades. No sheet metal / structural changes. Only new tail lamp interiors, head lamp interiors, new bumper creases at the front and back & different electronic feature additions. Structurally the cars remain absolutely unchanged. And I'm not too disappointed in this case either. In its existing form, the Brezza is a very neat looking car. Somewhere I'm glad it stays how it is. (For example I feel the Nexon was better before face-lift. Not many agree with that though.)

In fact this is a huge face-lift by MSIL standards given the engine itself changes totally.

Just spoke to the dealer in Pune. I happen to be their loyal customer. The number belongs to their test drive car. It seems Maruti has just used their car number for the advertisement. The dealership too is pleasantly surprised.

As much as I'm happy to see the exterior remain its good self, I can't say the same about the dashboard & steering wheel. It is now looking a bit boring & uninviting compared to the other cars in the segment.
