The engine will be offered in two states of tune. Naturally aspirated, around 80-odd bhp and a turbocharged one with close to 110Ps.

Dial in some clever gearing, maybe shortened set of first three ratios, and a sub one tonne kerb weight, and you can end up with a car with pretty spiffy performance.

Clever pricing, straddling Punch & Nexon(Base to Mid+) territory should do the trick in drawing people to showrooms - speaking of which, Stellantis/Citroen has to expand its retail presence manifold if it is serious about competing in the mass market segment in India.

The car should be expected to be out on showrooms before end of Q2 this year. Alloys will be available. AFAIK, no rear wipers unfortunately. Yes, there are many tangible differences between the India and Brazil cars. I am not aware of the exact factors influenced these decisions (probably money and effort). 3 variants should be available at launch.

I saw no less than 5 Citroen C3's today in Chennai. All of them had the red license plate as above. 4 of the 5 had orange roofs and a black body, the other one was white. Saw 4 of them on the ECR near Mahabalipuram and the other one within the city. They seem to have a pretty unremarkable road presence, I wouldn't have noticed them at all if it weren't for the Citroen badge.

EDIT : Saw some comments on their performance - one pulled up to, overtook the other of the pair, and carried forward - and it seemed pretty ordinary to me, I passed them both fairly easily.

Citroen C3 will launch in India next month though this will be the conventional fuel variant lineup. The EV variant will follow next year.

Upcoming Citroen C3 C-SUV appears on Indian website.

Not sure if it's been posted here but I was traveling somewhere in my family and I spotted a black car with a Citroen badge in the corner of my eye (this was just behind the Ravindu Toyota showroom near Orion Mall in Bangalore). I wanted to make sure if it was a C5 Aircross or an undisguised C3 so I went to the Citroen India website to check if the C5 was available in Black and there it was under the "models" section on the menu.

While driving back to Chennai from Erode last weekend, an undisguised Citreon C3 was giving me company for almost 50 kms. While the front does look like a miniature C5, the rear looks more like Tata Punch. In fact, I almost mistook it for Punch if not for the Citreon logo. Looked more like a hatchback rather than a mini SUV.

From the 'spy' pics and also the other pics here, a few observations that will come in the T-Bhp review.

- Flap type door handles are from a previous generation and should have at least pull type door handles (evident cost cutting)
- hard plastics on the dashboard will get scratched easily
- panel gaps!

True that. I don't really understand what difference a flap or handle is going to make for a normal buyer! For me cleaning the panel behind a flap is easy than a handle having two exposed joints with accumulated dust.

Citroen was fine with extremely limited dealer reach because they were selling just one, a premium car in 40-50L segment and taking pride in it, but what about this 6L car now?

Their whole image because of C5 seems to be 'odd French luxury car seller' which is an antithesis of the C3's philosophy.

Well, this can be a volume product for Citroen but I guess its a little too late. Here in Gurgaon, their only Dealer has shut his shop already.
And what sort of brand placement are they looking for? One end you have a premium car and on the other hand you have a mass market car (rumor has it that it will be priced below the Punch) and nothing in-between.
