What am I missing here?
Is it fine to register with a different model name altogether (this is registered as Kicks)
Or swapping number plates?
This is not the first time we have seen that.
Mostly when company is shooting advert for car which is not launched, they usually use the plate from one of their own company cars.
Don't know the legality behind it.

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

I've checked with a Nissan dealer yesterday, they have started taking booking for Magnite already. Don't know if it is legit or not, but the service executive told me they already received around 100 booking so far and inorder to avoid delay, he asked me to book it now.

For pricing, they said it will start at 6.5 lakhs and top-end will be max 10 lakhs.

Doesn’t appear to be legitimate because the unveiling is only on the 21st. The dealer must be wanting to tide over his cash crunch by hook or by crook.

Price release? Wasn't it supposed to be just an unveil? IIRC, the official launch is only happening early next year. I would be glad if proven wrong here.

It is like constructing a weak building and then furnishing it with good quality materials, tiles, nice thick wooden doors and panels. When the structure is weak, a bit thicker door panels(to give a overall better built vibe) and all these safety equipment like 6 airbags, esp etc. will only take you so far. In the C-SUV segment, the Venue starts at the lowest price (next up is Nexon but it has already proved its built quality) and then the price increases as the features add up and engines change. It is evident where Hyundai has cut corners as the base car is same right from the base model to the range topping one.

Venue / Sonet are NOT based on the Santro K1 platform.

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

Magnite can turn the tide for Nissan in India. Expected pricing is falling in the premium hatch segment, which will definitely increase footfalls to Nissan showrooms across India.

My request to Nissan, change the Datsun grille to your iconic V shaped grille.

The car looks proportionate from all angles and design is also good. Hope, Nissan is not compromising the build quality in order to reduce the price.

Waiting for 21st October unveil.

By the Gods how many "leaks" and teasers will we now have Nissan? Just release the car and be done with it.

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

This Magnite looks to be a really promising product. Atleast from the pictures. Although I'm not sure what engine they'll put into this. They surely won't put the 1.3 turbo from the Kicks because it won't be feasible and they don't have any other mid capacity engine really. I just hope it isn't the ancient and anemic 1.2 NA that gets put here. That will be really sad.

Also I still believe that even if Nissan perfects this, it simply won't sell because of the Nissan badge on the grille. They really have a lot of miles to go before they feature on a mango man's shortlist.

Good Luck Nissan

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

A 1.0 turbo pot would make this a very very interesting product! At this price point talk about setting the cat among pigeons.

Yes, Nissan might well be on its way out, but as a last attempt this one could burn bright !

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

After so many leaks, Magnite surely is the buyers list.
1.0 Turbo with the Price tag of 5.99 Lakhs would be a bomb.Aggressive pricing is the only option to attract buyers towards Nissan. This could be the last Plug for Nissan.

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

Front fascia looks quite aggressive with that huge grille similar to Datsun although it is close to Audi grille also to some extent. Side profile is imposing SUVish stance unlike Sonet which looks like hatchback. Tail light reminds me of Triber but overall rear profile is good.

If Nissan can improve their ASS network and price this product aggressively, it can bring some volumes.

interior of the new Magnite again, the novel idea is that the meters look like full digital, and the semicircular rings face each other to make it look like full digital.

In reality, the leftmost semicircle is the water temperature system, the rightmost semicircle is the number of revolutions (rpm), the rightmost semicircle is the refueling meter, and the leftmost semicircle is the speed meter.

It's a little hard to see because the "DO OR OPEN" pop-up screen appears, but it looks like a 12.3-inch full digital LCD display (actually 7 inches),

air conditioner related:

This is also fairly simple, the air volume, temperature, and wind direction are grouped into dials, and AUTO and air conditioners are grouped into physical switches, making it easy to see with the minimum required.

For the top variant the white colored stitches sewn with a rainy day shift boots.

Moreover, although you can see a part of the seat skin on the driver's side, it seems that it will be a combination seat of synthetic leather and fabric

the powertrain of the new Magnite is scheduled to have a 1.0L in-line 3-cylinder turbo engine (maximum output of about 95hp),

Re: The Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV

So here it is, Nissan Magnite in its production figure. I find to be the best looking Compact SUV in the segment (Even though we expected a Nissan V motion grill, we find this one a let down because our mindset is full of the cheap feeling of the Datsun range )

This time, I could see lot of features added ( Thanks to Kia for pushing these lazy people )

waiting for the official details now
