Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Multiple articles creating rumors of a End of the Year Launch:

1. Honda HR-V Hybrid India Launch By The End Of This Year – Report: Link

2. Honda HR-V Hybrid SUV, with claimed mileage of 26 kmpl, may launch in India soon: Link

Anyway let us first see if they manage to launch the Hybrid City by June, if they do then we can consider the HR-V Launch to be near.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Considering that the HRV is based on the updated Fit platform, which is not destined for India in the near future, I think we can forget that this car will come heavily localized. It might get in here through the CKD route, so we can very well forget a sub-23L price. This car will compete with the top variants of Compass/Tiguan/Tucson, while the dimensions suggest a smallish car - more in line with Creta dimensions.

Again, we should take this news with a boatload of salt.

https://www.indiacarnews.com/news/20...20in%20length.

As per this news article, the new2021 HRV has grown in size measures about 4.4m in length which is exactly in the same territory as Compass and Tucson. So, I guess your assumption is not correct.

Coming to the car itself, I think it looks absolutely fantastic apart from the body-colored front grill. Also, it seems filled with all the gizmos one would like to have and the interiors also look top notch. I am sure Honda will have different options available for the grill, if the car is ever launched in India. If this comes in Hybrid and priced in the Tucson range, it will provide a great option for buyers. But, given Honda's history in India, I won't believe this rumor unless Honda officially confirms it.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Good pricing + Honda badge (which has significantly lost it’s presence in recent times) + HEV system, can give Honda a good boost if they bring it to India. Honda must be also knowing that this can be their make or break model (SUV) now, keeping the City and Amaze aside.

Noob query perhaps, but is the Honda HR-V in the same class as the CR-V, or above/ below it?

Just a notch below it. Top variant of HR-V costs a little more than base variant of CR-V in international market.

In the e: HEV model, we aimed for powerful driving suitable for an SUV by increasing the number of battery cells and increasing the motor output. The in-line 4-cylinder DOHC 1.5-liter "LEC" engine produces a maximum output of 78kW (106PS) / 6000-6400rpm and a maximum torque of 127Nm (13.0kgfm) / 4500-5000rpm. This is combined with an "H5" type motor that produces a maximum output of 96kW (131PS) / 4000-8000rpm and a maximum torque of 253Nm (25.8kgfm) / 0-3500rpm. In addition, by moving the miniaturized PCU (power control unit) from under the luggage compartment to the engine compartment and reviewing the structure such as optimizing the intake and exhaust paths, it is based on the MM concept, which is the strength of the Vezel. It has both a large luggage space.

The gasoline model is equipped with an in-line 4-cylinder DOHC 1.5-liter "L15Z" engine that produces a maximum output of 87kW (118PS) / 6600prm and a maximum torque of 142Nm (14.5kgfm) / 4300rpm. The newly developed CVT used in the "Fit" has been optimized to reduce the gear ratio, and has been improved so that it feels smooth and easy to handle when starting, and a linear and refreshing acceleration feel when accelerating.

Quote:
The WLTC mode fuel consumption is 22.0km / L to 25.0km / L for the e: HEV model and 15.6km / L to 17.0km / L for the gasoline model. In addition, it has achieved 5 stars, which is the highest evaluation in the WLTC mode, which achieves the "2018 emission standard 75% reduction".
Quote:
In the interior design, the strength of the SUV is expressed by a solid form with a solid core, while the soft touch and shape of the pad are applied to the parts that touch the body to increase the strength. It is a space that combines kindness.

In the area of safety and security, the latest safe driving support system "Honda SENSING" is standard equipment on all models. The functions have been greatly improved by adopting a front wide view camera with an improved lateral field of view from the previous model, a high-speed image processing chip, and a sonar sensor before and after short-range obstacle detection.

There is a higher possibility of me getting a posting in Japan buying the car there and being crazy enough to ship it back to India than Honda launching it in India

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Love the interior, space and the tidiness. Also, for a Honda it has little overhangs. The rear overhang adds character when its sloping up a la Range Rovers anyway. Gets magic seats, right wheel size, not flashy or ungainly too !
But looking at the snow and off-roadish videos above, its anything a FWD can do easily

Honda, just tell us you will get this. I will wait for this with hybrid powertrain.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

This is a car I will most probably buy IF it ever ends up in India, even at a slightly inflated price. It ticks all the checkboxes - size, design, feature, hybrid powertrain, reliability, safety etc. But I don't have any iota of hope of Honda India management bringing this car to India. So, I am not going to hold my breath for this however much I like it.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

The exteriors and interiors are too good for an SUV and unique styling. Its a potent car and Honda India should have planned long back which they could not.

Hybrid ivtec would be superb in all aspects

Checked with my service advisor during my service appointment. he said, "Sir all the customers asked about HRV. Company did not cancel the launch"

So hoping to see the india launch for a good, safe and reliable car(SUV)

Super liked the optional styling grill than the regular one : https://www.honda.co.jp/ja/photo/202...vezel_023L.jpg
