This is hardly a comeback, it is more of a self-goal in football parlance. Having said that I don't think Tata should focus on ridiculing market favourites. It has never worked for Tata in past. Initially, Aria was claimed to be better than Innova. Nano was better than MS 800. It has never worked in their favour. They should brag about their safety ratings and focus on improving customer experience and quality of service.

All that Maruti proved by this response was - they can combine 2 fonts in a single line on a flyer page. Expected at least a better PR effort from MSIL.

Earlier they hid behind the GoI's safety norms. Now hiding behind 24L buyers who put faith in the WagonR. At least some of them didn't know about the safety credentials when buying the car. (Certainly there will be some who made a calculated decision to buy the car knowing the limitations with specific applications in mind.)

While an additional airbag and seatbelt pretensioners may increase the score by a star, the Spresso is still an unsafe product everywhere. It's funny how Suzuki South Africa throws Maruti Suzuki under the bus.

Not every tweet or Instagram post comes pre approved by the Tata Motors CEO. This team although getting a bit repetitive is on some fun and let them enjoy for they deserve this. I am sure they have people looking at other departments as well to improve their brand image.

Every person working for any good Organization is responsible for it's image in the market. People working in social media has nothing to do with technical things for sure but he is representing organization to the outside world, so he/she has to be extra careful and responsible. Also one more thing, Tata just sold 23 K in total last month and Maruti's Swift alone sold almost same numbers. In Total Maruti is selling many times more cars than Tata for last 20 years. Instead of mocking Maruti, Tata you better learn few good things from them. It will help you improve only, just mocking on social media will not take you anywhere. Thanks & all the best.

4 years ago when I was searching for a small city hatchback, the WagonR had only driver side airbag. Co-passenger side airbag was only available for Optional variant. And none of the Maruti dealerships in Gurgaon could confirm availability of that Optional variant of WagonR with two airbags. So I rejected that car.

Now, how many of the 24 lakhs+ Happy customers got a WagonR with basic minimum safety feature of two airbags?

For past 2-3 years the safety consciousness is increasing among the entry level car buyers, which is a good sign for indian automobile sector. All my colleagues and friends laughed at me when I spent extra money for the Swift optional with two airbags. It's good that now all of them check how safe is the car before a buying decision.

There should be a statistics available for the fatal accidents of Maruti Suzuki cars. How many families lost someone due to these unsafe cars.

Tata has done and doing far better works for nearly half a decade and no way inferior compared to other competitors.

Right now, they have got a best chance to take a dig at fellow competitors for their sub-standard products and it has been well received too and appreciated by many

Overall, they have given the best products in recent years and it’s people who are ignorant in choosing the wise one and moreover they are consistently improving their ASS too.

And merely, I don’t think the numbers matters here anymore than the people’s lives.

Don't think it's so sir.

To me, they seem to be justifying the results by saying that "GNCAP picked the base variant of the car sold in India (which has one airbag and no seat belt pretensioners) whereas our Spresso has dual airbags and pretensioners as standard. So these results don't apply to the Spresso sold in South Africa".

Though, I agree that Spresso world over seems to be a budget hatchback build from the ground up with no regards to safety.
