I had a look of Verna today in person and immediately visited Honda showroom to see the City. In terms of seat cushioning and comfort, City felt better to me. The seats felt more "welcoming" . Verna"s seats were a bit more hard and were of lesser width by few centimeters.

In the back seat, Verna's thigh support is on the higher side. Me being 5 ft 6 in, I had to keep my leg at 90 degrees position for my foot to be planted on the floor. When I stretched my legs, they were not able to touch the floor, kind of hanging. But in City, there is a slope below the front seats for the rear passengers to keep the legs stretched and the thigh support was just about right too.

City still looked more spacious to me than Verna.

Just watched a real world drive review of Verna 1.5 Turbo DCT. I must say I’m mighty impressed with the performance. The driver in the YouTube video claims 0-100 in 8 seconds is true. The video is in Tamil and feel free to skip to the 0-100 test at 5:00. Due to bad camera angle the speedo is not visible.

Another video of the 1.5 Turbo Manual. Because of manual shifts 0-100 happens a little slow at 9 seconds which is still very impressive. Maybe a different driver could’ve done better with the MT.

This is an exception to the darker-looks-better rule. That paint combination looks really yummy. Still, I have to say, the SX(O) petrol CVT is my favourite: that layered dash is best suited with dual tone (plus no DCT worries).

IMO, now is a good time for sedan lovers and even C-segment shoppers in general. In my admittedly biased eyes, the Verna, Virtus, Slavia and City all offer value at least equal to, if not more than their SUV counterparts (if any). Not too long ago one would've thought the segment would have been dead by now, with all manufacturers flogging old products with lame refreshes, like Maruti is. Personally, I think out of the four others, Hyundai has made the best effort.

With the Verna (and City facelift) I can see VW having to update the twins sooner than they probably would've liked. A Monte Carlo edition and a GNCAP rating are quite likely already on the way, but thanks to the hot-looking Verna Turbo they won't have the first mover advantage. In a bigger update I would also expect ADAS and rear belt reminders.

Apart from the rear seat space improvement, this is another great thing Hyundai have done. This was even evident from videos first looks. Under thigh support seems fantastic for average and above average heighted people.

Again Honda's slanted floor for rear seat passengers is a thoughtful touch indeed.

The new Verna is another feather in Hyundai hat and a sure shot winner What's heartening is that sedans have managed to bounce back taking some of the market space from the all time craze SUVs...

The new VERNA is radical in design and power. Loaded with mouth watering features and reliability of Hyundai network, it will top the charts... (Slavia's numero uno position up for grabs!)

With 8k bookings in the initial round, I hope we'll soon this beauty swarming our roads bringing the much required sedan culture back to force

City > Slavia > Verna in terms of the overall sensation of space, especially headroom. The difference in terms of shoulder room is incremental, but the City is still king here.

The Verna is better in terms of leg room and under thigh support, but the cabin felt narrow and the sloping roofline doesn't help (this is all relative..). But.. that being said, this generation of the Verna in isolation is genuinely spacious in the back and especially so when compared with the previous one.

The verna I sat in had light interiors. The turbo might be a bit worse with the all black theme.

Probably this is the first reported accident involving the new Verna.
Headlamps are destroyed with other parts.
Someone mentioned earlier that it might have been better if they were positioned a bit higher.

My opinion before test drive - even though the claim power of Verna is more than that of 1.5 TSI, transmission behaviour of VW-DSG would be superior than that of Hyundai-DCT. Year back when I was looking to upgrade from my Vento 1.2 TSI, test drove Seltos 1.4 DCT and felt the transmission of my Vento was far superior. Seltos DCT felt sluggish in comparison.

My speculation of the new Verna - enthusiast will stick to VW cousins with 1.5 TSI. While the new Verna will be more popular in its lower variants

I think these Youtubers are just picking up the test drive vehicles from the showrooms, where available, and then doing a quick video. These are not proper reviews, but the pressure of producing and putting it up before others is so high on social media that is why we are seeing some of these "reviews."

That said, I am really interested in the 0-100 figures, 8.something; I am surprised that not many folks on this enthusiastic automobile forum are jumping on here. If the handling is good, this is is going to be great car. The looks, even if they are a bit quirky, will grow on you.

Design is polarizing for sure, some may like the look, some may start liking it after seeing on & few will surely find its look not so great, however its a feature-rich car and way ahead of its competitors, powerful engine than new X1.

Overall it will sell good for at least 2-3 years before they have to bring some updates. Looks really good in black. I feel like buying it as my secondary car.
