Mr.Bangalore

You are extracting some good averages from your vehicles.
18 - 19 kmpl on a 4500km run i10 is great. So is the figure for Innova.
Great going.

These figures are for roughly 70% highway.

Am a learner. In my 1999 Carb ZEN, I got 14.1 KMPL , No A/C, half city , half highway and daily trip around 32 km ( 226 km on trip meter and filled 14.2 litres of petrol full tank-full tank)

16.57kmpl , which Honda sir jee? City, Civic, Jass, CRV all are Vtecs. Also 130 kms daily...this would be highway.

Appreciation ??? No way, man. The ANHC seems to have bettered records set by the M800 - some reports that I saw on the forum indicate FE of 20kmpl or more on highways - the last I saw such FE was with our old '85 non-A/c M800. All thanks to the supposedly revolutionary technology called iVtec.

Compared to that, your FE is pedestrian. The only way you are going to get appreciation is if the 16.57kmpl city FE you got was from a CRV. :-)

It is Friday (well, technically Saturday) and I am in weekend mode. But still your math seems wrong - 226 / 14.2 returns a FE of 15.9 kmpl. Which is more than the FE you mentioned. So you should be happy, man.

P.S. : Are you the same guy who posted on another thread about not being able to get to 5th gear on a Zen in Tvm traffic ? Not to worry. You seem to be doing good otherwise also as far as FE is concerned. Just don't compete with iVtec Hondas.

Yes, I am the same guy. who posted about Trivandrum traffic. THere is typo in my earlier message. The fuel filled was 15.9 litres. JUst checked the Credit card statement and the bill from petrol bunk. Sorry about that. But as you said, even the FE of 14.2KMPL , I should be happy as still I am learner. May be it will come down by 2KMPL if i use a/c. Now that trivandrum Summer (Mid february to May) has started, A/C may become essential.

Another update: Today I filled up petrol. Again full tank. Fuel filled :22.64 liters. Distance covered: 329 Km. The last 100 Km was with A/C. Average FE:14.53KMPL. Gurus here, do you think for the learner who has been driving for the past 1700 KM, this FE is par for the course ? It is part city , part highway trip daily.

FE on my U-VA

Folks,

I know that the Chevy U-VA is not liked by many and is also not even considered for any kind of comparisons in the same category. However i would like to present my FE numbers.

Driven mainly in Mumbai city the FE very much varies on the speed I drive.

Speed maintained during the entire duration of tank fill - <60 kms/hr

35 lts - 586 kms - 16.74 km/lt

Next fill Speed was anywhere in the region of 40 - 80 kms/hr

35 lts - 521.9 - 14.91 km/lt

Recently I undertook a 1000 km trip from Mumbai - Aurangabad via Pune. Also covered Ajanta & Ellora. Aurangabad - Mumbai via Nashik.

Total Kms covered: 996
Total Fuel: 62 lts
FE: 16.06
Speed Range: 80 - 160 kms/hr

That I feel is very good FE per my thinking. Any views.
