FE in city : 14.5 Kmpl with 100% AC on.

FE on a HighWay : 17.5 Kmpl with 70% AC on.

Let me admit, There is a catch here, My office time is from 12 to 10 pm. So most travel in my return journey is not on very congested road. At the same time it is not entirely free road. Pune people probably can guess the Magarpatta to Kothrud stretch at 10-11 pm night, there is huge traffic of cabs and truckers on Hadpasar road plus narrow lanes making temporary jamsl, thanks to BRT .

I follow few things which helps me in good FE.

1. Shift to 4th or top gear as soon as possible.
2. Come back to 3rd or second as late as possible.
3. Light-foot driving.
4. Fill at the known good pumps.

I am getting mileage of 17-18kmpl from my Indica Vista(highway+city) and 10-11Kmpl(in city) from Safari TCIC.

my Maruti 800 Mpfi, 5 speed, 2001 gives me 21-22 Kmpl regularly in mixed cycle

current odo: ~2900
In city: 11 - 12 max.
Highway: 15 - 17Km (worst:12 on potholed roads with 1st and 2nd gear)
AC : almost 100 % on
Observations:
1. Premium petrol IOC and Shell.
2. need to get into low gearing often or maintain engine at higher rpm as engine picks up after 1800 - 2000 rpm only. Hampers in city traffic
3. Tyres are 185/60/14, +1 upsize, Yoko A drives, nitrogen filled. error is very negligible compared to OE.

what is the average FE on the stock b250 tyres?

hi guys! ive been testing my SX4 ZXi with stock tyres 205/60R16 JK Vectras in Pune city and highways with the top up to top up method for the last one year and have been consistently getting 13.5 to 14 KMPL.

checked again today after top up (full city driving with 50% aircon ) and got 14.2 kmpl.

It gave a mileage of about 12.16 KMPL before the first service. Now its giving me 12.3 with plenty of time (almost 50%) spent in bumper to bumper traffic. About to complete 3,000 KM on the odo.

city+highway: 17.75.
Initially it was 19 and gradually came to this when I was expecting it to improve after the 1st service at 10k. Any idea why this is happening and how to increase it?

Got a new i-10(1.2), about 2 months old now and getting about 12.5 in city with not much A/C. Use the defogger occasionally and my wife who is a new driver uses it so its a decent FE that i am getting.
Does it increase post 1st free service?
A friend bought spark around the same time and its giving him 14.5 with A/C...wow...
what surprises me here - even with such a fantastic FE the spark is still not as high a seller...looks like FE is not the only thing that matters after all
