Apologies once more on this delayed response. Post the 20k kms service of my Alto, I embarked on a mission to check what is the best FE i could get from a tankful of normal unleaded petrol in a city run.

And so here are the figures. On 32.59 litres of Shell Unleaded petrol, the Alto chugged along in the city for 657 kms averaging 20.16 kmpl.

This FE was achieved without the use of the a/c. On a recent trip to Masinagudi and back, the Alto gave a FE of 21.04 kmpl with the a/c on about 40% of the 686 kms driven.

I have no reasons to complain

Regards,
gpa

Excellent FE figures, gpa, and that too, under gruelling driving conditions in Bangalore. The best FE figures I've ever managed to extract was 22 kmpl. My alto regularly hovers around the 19-21 mark, which is better than the 18.1 kmpl figure that MUL itself advertises for the Alto.

Regards,
Melvyn

Ritz Vxi

Car: Ritz Vxi
City: Bangalore
Overall average so far: 13.5 kmpl

* Mostly driven in city (only ~ 200 kms on highway, out of ~ 1600).
* AC switched on 80% of the time. If it's hot, AC is always on.
* Engine is switched off at most of the signals.
* Most driven route: Banneraghatta-road->BTM->Silk-Board->Agara->Sarjapur
* Always used IOC normal petrol (near BTM Water tank)
* This is my first car and my experience as a driver is, as old as the car

1st refill - 12.8 kmpl (410 kms, 32 liters) includes ~ 100kms of highway
2nd refill - 13.45 kmpl (417 kms, 31 liters)
3rd refill - 13.1 kmpl (330 kms, 25 liters)

After 1st service:
4th refill - 14.8 kmpl (475 kms in 32 liters) includes ~ 100 kms of highway

While am excited at the last reading, wouldn't read much into this ... will wait for couple for readings.
