I own a Getz Crdi which has done around 25000 Km. I consistently get the following FE figures -

City - around 14 Kmpl (Bangalore)
Highways - around 17 Kmpl
The above figures are approximately with 50% usage of A/C

I always measure on tankful to tankful basis and generally fill up from the same petrol pump.

Best Regards,
Birashis

Here's the actual fuel efficiency for my 2003 Skoda Octavia 1.9TDi, which is driven 95% in Mumbai city and about 5% highway runs.

The FE is calculated very meticulously by me by strictly topping up at the same nozzle of the same petrol pump at the same time of day (early morning) strictly on 'automatic shut-off' mode, and then dividing the actual distance travelled by the number of litres consumed of fuel (ordinary diesel) consumed. The minimum fill is 40 litres, so each tankful represents a minimum of approx 530 km running.

Incidentally, the calculated figure correspond very closely to the average consumption calculated by the Octy's on-board computer, with less than 2% error.

All FE figures are in kmpl

Last three tankfuls: 12.45, 13.37, 12.85

Cumulative average since I bought the car in March 2007: 11.29

Cumulative average since I stopped giving it to the driver in March 2009: 13.58

Lowest three tankful averages during my ownership: 8.19, 8.94, 9.19 (all before March 2009, i.e., when the driver was driving).

Highest three tankful averages during my ownership: 14.96, 14.49, 14.13

Not bad for a relatively ancient engine technology!!!

Octavia:

City: ~ 12-13 KMPL (83K on Odo)
Highway: ~ 15-16 KMPL

RS:

City: ~ 7.5-8 KMPL (Before being remapped, it used to return between 9-10 to a litre)
Highway: ~ 11 KMPL (Last long drive on a highway RS returned 10.7 KMPL)

Gypsy:

City: ~ 9-10 KMPL

I have not taken the Gypsy on a Highway ride yet. But when it was driven from Delhi to Hyderabad, it had returned a figure of little over 11 KMPL.

Cheers,
