Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I think my i20 CRDi gave me around 22-23 kmpl during the 500 km run last weekend. I had chosen this time to stick to within 90-95 kph most of the time, and gone easy on the throttle. I havent done a very clear-cut measurement, this is a rough estimate based on tankful to tankful method. I usually get around 20-21 on highway runs, so I guess you can add 2 to 3 kms by driving a bit more sedately.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Full tank to full tank, my cutie Alto LXi returns 15Kmpl in city traffic and nearly 20 in the highway. Its really a joy to ride in the city and highway too. On the highways, it has always been two adults and a child while in city its a solo ride. AC off in city (except for about 20% of the time) and 80% on during the highways. I love the drive with the AC on for the sole purpose of enjoying the silence on the highways.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Ford Fiesta now Classic 1.6 Duratec Petrol gives around 10.5 in city with full AC. Recently after my tankful, DTE threw up incredible 700kms plus and even after driving for 43 odd kms, the total is still around 700km. This looks unreal as I had never seen more than 550 on the DTE after tankfull!!!!!!
At this rate, FE will be 15+

I'm flabbergasted, really!
I'm in agreement with your previous numbers. I've also gotten the same.
700 ,never. Most I've seen is 550+. Did you disconnect the battery after the tankful?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

No Mayankk.
In fact when DTE shot to 700, i thought it must be a temporary error. But even after a few drives, its still showing the same figure.
I had a 500km highway run before the tankful and i feel that the attendant could have filled beyond the autocut point. But still 700km on a petrol car is simply mind blowing.

Do you reset the Avg mileage on the MID after every full tank?

No. In fact i dont even how to do that. I just set odo counter to zero every time I do a tankful.

Yeah. It will be true only when the actual mileage starts showing on the odo. In my experience, the DTE falls faster than the mileage. Lets see how much I actually get. Looks too good to be true!!!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

One question to all petrol Innova owners. How much Actual FE should I expect from an Innova Gasoline engine for highway driving. If I get a used Innova petrol at a good price (between 4-5 lacs or lesser), then I may consider it over the Innova diesel, because this is going to be exclusively used for outstation, highway trips along with family. It won't be clocking more than 500 kms on an average in a month.

Apart from the petrol Innova being silent & low on maintenance compared to its diesel siblings what are the other advantages of a petrol Innova over a diesel one? Is the engine as torquey as the diesel?
