Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2010 Oct Punto 1.3 MJD - City FE : 13, Highway FE 20+ ( 90-100 KMPH) . AC is on most of the times. I believe the short 4 KM office commute in BLR traffic is what causing it to be this low in the city.

Here we see respectable figures, and then:

Are you sure its a petrol there? I would be surprised even if the MID shows 19-22kmpl on the highway, that too with the speeds you have mentioned. Are you talking about instantaneous FE?

I drive using the instant mileage figures and this helps to maintain the rpm on flat stretches at the same time maintaining speed between 80 and 110 max thereby allowing the engine to have minimal effort to keep moving. No sudden bursts.

Instant figures some stats
uphill between 7 to 12 kmpl
flats or straights between 16 to 28kmpl
downhill 50 kmpl (dont use the throttle)

My recent goa trip 1298kms gave me 19.2 kmpl overall with 100% ac usage of 348 kms within goa.

The figures displayed by the odo match distance as well as the amount spent on fuel.

The best I extracted coasting short distance pune to ahmednagar 122 kms was 26kmpl yes Nano figures
did not cross 80kmph
all windows rolledup
No ac as it was fine 6am morning

The key to get the above 34 psi all 4 1psi more than factory setting
when its not a Ferrari why drive like one.

compare the figures to my 220 which is thrashed mercilessly giving 26kmpl at high speeds (no figures here)

Another 4-5 litre remaining before it reach the lower level mark(when i usually refill). AC used sparingly only when it rained.

So ~22 kmpl.
Can you shed some light on the FE of the same during city drives with AC on?

Honda Civic 2007. 1.8S MT. City mileage has dipped to 10-10.5 kmpl primarily due to shorter distance covered. Now the one way trip to work is just 4.5kms. Highway 15-16 kmpl.

Currently I don't drive in city traffic.

But as observed in the past even in mild traffic situations, the FE drops drastically; like 16-17 in sub-urban traffic and 14-15 when driving in the core of the city.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI MT

Best mileage on highway tankful-to-tankful was about 13.5 kmpl. No sudden acceleration and speeds between 80-120 kmph. Ac on.

With normal driving, on an average I get 12-12.5 kmpl on highway runs. Ac on.

I dont drive the car a lot in the city so not sure about mileage there.

The car has done about 7.5k kms so first service not up yet.

I have noticed that for this car, staying in highest gear coasting as much as possible gets best mileage. By highest gear I mean downshifting only once revs go below 1k rpm.

Hope you are very much light footed. Highway figures are simply awesome for Civic. We never managed to get anything over 12~13kmpl.
What speed were you driving?
