Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 57+K run i20 diesel has been giving me 16+ kmpl in Pune city - 100% city run. I got 17.2 last month, perhaps an added effect of the rains. I guess I should be happy with this FE... Havent taken her out on the highway for a long time.

What is your general driving style? I get around 15 in the city, 100 percent AC.

I'd say that with 100% AC 15 km/l is a pretty decent figure for the 1.4L mill. 16 km/l is best I've managed to pull off under similar conditions.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

VW Polo 2013 1.2 petrol

12-13.5 in moderate traffic. I don't encounter much bumper to bumper traffic. 14.5-16 in regular roads without traffic and anywhere between 18-20 in highways. I drive with a very light right foot, upshift at 2000rpm and hit the fourth gear by 40-50km/h. Highest average I've clocked is 23.8kmpl which involved a lot of coasting and pulsing for a 60km trip.

2014 Honda city idtech

In the city with moderate and bumper to bumper traffic 16.5-18. Highway runs 22.5-24. Never bothered to do drastic fuel saving techniques while driving the city.

Thanks
Sunny

1. I always tank up from the same petrol bunker.

2. AC is generally at 1, 2 is chiller and thanks to the powerful compressor of Figo, never needed 3&4. But it is on 100% time.

3. I upshift around 1900-2000rpm.

4. Minimal use of clutch.

5. I'm somewhat between a lead foot and a sedate driver.

6. Service at regular intervals; moreover if you feel your last 2-3000kms have exposed car to extreme dust, just clean the air filter.

7. Air pressur of tyres ---i've seen variations in FE because of this.

Cheers,

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I drive the same way.

1. Same bunk, why I use the same vending machine (Force of habit I know)
2. AC at 2 always.
3. Change my engine oil at 5000 kms.
4. Not a very sedate driving style.
5. 32 psi all around on 185 section tires.

But I will look into the cleaning the air filter part, the roads are a mess after the deluge and would have resulted in a lot of dust ingestion.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Swift Dzire VDI: 18-20kmpl (City), 22-24kmpl (Highway)

Hyundai Getz Prime: 8-10kmpl (City), 14kmpkg (City), 23kmpkg (Highway)
I couldn't figure out why the Getz is low on mileage. Also, the variation in City and Higway on CNG is extreme *confusing*.

Traffic: Moderate.
AirCon: 100% of the time on Dzire, 80% on Getz.
