Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Vehicle: Ford IKON Flair, '07
Kms Done: 590kms
Fuel Consumed: 42.61
Fuel Efficiency: 13.84

This involved some 'real' ripping for about 200kms. Which means, staying most of the time at the red line. Plus 80kms of Bangalore city traffic.

Pretty Good Figures, it seems.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Mine is I20 Asta CRDI with 6 speed gearbox bought in Dec 2010 and has clocked over 8000 kms in odo.
Worst was 13 km/l (hard driving)
Best was 21.9 km/l (at steady 100km/h speed)
Average is 17-18km/l (70% highway and 30% city driving).

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Indica-DLX/ July'04/ 89,533km/ 19.92kmpl(last tankful FE)
Overall mileage - 18.38kmpl
Best - 21.03 kmpl
Worst - 13.3 kmpl (due to miscalculation of a tankful FE)
Consistently getting between 18 & 20 kmpl (for a combined city & highway driving of 64kms daily, with intermittent use of AC)

Anyone interested in knowing further details can have a glimpse at my car log:

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2005 Zen Lxi - Have been consitantly getting 12.5 in the city with bumper to bumper traffic and about 17 on the highways with ac on at all times. Is this a decent mileage?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Ford Figo Petrol, in Bangalore City 100% in-city running, 50% A/C, all kinds of traffic.
Switched off at longer signals, occasional Italian tune-up.
ODO: 6000
11-12 kmpl consistently over 3 tankfuls, all measured tank full to tank full.
Shell premium, same petrol pump, same attendent!!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

The mileage on my Punto 90HP (MJD) is settling around 15-16kmpl (measured tankful-tankful). I cover around 620km on a full-tank. Usually there is one highway run included in that (around 150km round-trip). Rest in-city on typically short runs. Highway-only mileage is around 21kmpl. AC usage these days in 100%.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Maybe am speaking too soon , but here's my bit on my i10 Sportz Kappa2 that's run about 1800 kms so far

Tankful method employed to check the FE

Trip: Bangalore-chennai and back

Distance: 335 Kms

Onward - Bangalore to Chennai : 335Kms/18 Litres = 18.6Kmpl

Return - Chennai to Bangalore : 336 kms/24 Litres = 14 kmpl

Why this huge difference in FE while returning to Blr (given the same route) - no points for guessing and you guessed it right

A. Full AC on all 90% of the drive

B. My Heavy Foot !

Fuel: Shell Regular Unleaded Petrol
Tyres: OEM Goodyear Eagle NCT5 with 32psi normal air checked at every fillup at the same filling station.
Driving style: Anything but sedate!

This was according to my most recent tankful-to-tankful test after I filled up today.

Pardon my ignorance, just wondering if the No sunfilm installed (I understand you mean to point towards the excess AC requirement)
will really impact the FE.

Example- I have my AC on level 2 and my windows rolled up/windows no film/windows open. But my AC still on level 2 and as I dont think it acts like a temprature controlled thing the FE shouldnt differ much?

I say this knowing Fiesta does not have Climate control !

BTW I get an FE of 13 in semi -city 100 % AC.

Don't really know if having a Sunfilm will affect the FE or not. As you rightly pointed out, without a Climate Controlled AC it really shouldn't matter. But I'll know in the next few weeks for sure since I recently got some Sunfilm

Thanks
