Car: Hyundai i20 CRDI Asta 2012.
Mileage: 33106 km

Best FE ever = 24.71 Km/L (90% highway run)
Average FE = 18.09 Km/L (Typical Delhi<->Suburb commute)
Worst FE ever = 12.94 Km/L
Avg Cost per Km = Rs 2.78
Total Avg Cost per Km = Rs 3.96*

The average fuel cost per kilometer has decreased on account of reduced diesel prices.

*Total costs per kilometer includes costs of service, part replacement, tyre etc

The average cost per kilometer has gone up on account of higher diesel prices. Also I was getting atrocious FE @ ~25K mileage which improved significantly after an early 30K service.

Mileage : 8432

Diesel used : 43 litres

Distance travelled : 590 Kms

Mileage : 13.75 kmpl

100% city driving with AC on all the time

Worst FE ever: 10.5 km/l (city);
Best FE ever: 15 km/l (city);

Worst FE ever: 17.5 km/l (highway) - this was some spirited driving with 5 people on board, luggage and AC all the time

Best FE ever: 25.3 km/l (highway) - when driven at 90 on 6th gear. Usually I drive at 120 only and it gives 20-21 km/l

Car: Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi

Kms Done: 24,603

Best FE: 27.8 kmpl (NO AC and very light throttle inputs)

Worst FE: 14.7 kmpl (stuck in bottleneck traffic for 2 hours)

Mostly: I get 16-17 in Delhi city with AC 100% on and 18-19 on highways with speeds 100-120 with AC 100% on.

Total Km: 2,064 km
Method: Tankful to Tankful
first 500km City driving Avg: 15.4km/l
next 600km city+a little highway AVG: 15.8km/l
next 600km HIghway driving: 19.2km/l
highway driving style: mostly at 90-100km/hr and about 40-60 in the ghats. Mostly smooth driving with one co-passenger.
City driving style: 40-60km/hr, sometimes using S mode for engine breaking when rolling down a bridge. Dont know if that's a good idea though.
AC: on at 25-28oC
Econ mode: on expect a few times in the ghats/hilly region.
Max speed: 140km/hr for about 20 seconds on the expressway
overall: Extremely happy with the fuel economy. silenced all my friends who said Automatics give very poor average.

Driving Style: Mostly sedate.
Driving Conditions : City & highway (the blue cells in the chart below are FE numbers during highway run's).
ACC Setting : 25 degree centigrade.

At what speeds? I get 21 - 23 kmpl between 80 - 90 kmph cruising speeds, 19 - 20 around 100 kmph cruising speeds and 16 - 17 around 120 kmph.

My last highway drive from Bangalore -> Chikmagalur -> Bangalore returned 22.9 kmpl.

13kmpl is a very good mileage in Bangalore city.

Mileage depends on how you drive and what average speeds you drive.
- What average speed is shown in MID within city?
- What type of highway roads do you drive generally on? Lot of single lane and ghats or just 4 lanes?
- Whats your general cruising speed on highways?

By the way, I get 8.8-9.5kmpl in Bangalore city traffic on my Linea MJD. My home and office, both are in heart of the city and one way commute is 7kms. The average speed as per MID is 10-12kmph. When average speed is around 15-16, I used to get 11.8.12.5kmpl.

On highways, depending on what speeds I drive, I can get anywhere between 13kmpl and 26kmpl. My usual average milage these days have been 17-18.

My first post in team-bhp and too sharing mileage figures of a petrol Figo. Talk about intestinal fortitude

2010 Figo 1.2 Petrol (Zxi)
36,XXX Kms done till date
City mileage (Bangalore) : 11.6 Kmpl
City mileage (Kolkata) : 12.3 Kmpl
Worst mileage till date : 9.8 Kmpl (CV Raman Nagar to MG Road at 9:30 am)
Highway mileage : varies between 14.5 kmpl (5 pax) - 16 Kmpl (2 pax).
All figures with AC on but with variation in the heater control knob.

Here's my observation :
1. Mileage is extremely sensitive to weight. I know this is obvious but I have seen diesel's less susceptible to this. Torque advantage ?
2. Mileage is also affected by shift pattern. Again obvious, but the Figo seems to be less forgiving here.

On a side note, my bullet 350 averages anything from 20 to 27 kmpl. Never seen the north side of 30kmpl for sure. But then I am not known for "chugging" along the highway at 60kmph !

OHC type 2: 15 in city. 10-12 highway. Mostly without AC as I feel claustrophobic with windows closed.

i20 petrol 6 month old model (home ministers car): 12-13 within city. 100% AC on. Not taken it out of the city yet.

Fiesta petrol: same as the i20 above.

118NE: 8 in city. 10-11 on highways. No AC from factory.

Yezdi Roadking: 20-25 estimate only in city. Probably the same on highways. . Odo stopped working 20 years ago.

This is the first time I'm managing to hit the 20 kmpl mark in city. With AC always on, I guess it would've hovered somewhere around 13-14 kmpl.

What does the odo read now?(or has been reading for last 20 years? And have you ever bothered calculating the average over a short trip with other methods
