Very very affordable pricing. This car is certain to rock the market. Its got most of the points in its favour.Got a chance to see the car at Sai Service today, and i was impressed with the looks of it.Its much better than all the Maruti cars put together.

wow, the wagon-r comes with abs now....!!! i didn't know that till yesterday, when i checked it myself..... i guess i didn't bother with the upgradations on the current models.... thanks for pointing out, montoya and dceite... but dudes, what good would the abs and airbags be on the wagon-r? agreed, it's good to give the customer variety and options, but i don't think the abs- equipped wagon-r have had much sales.... none have been sold at vasai, anyways..!!!!

hmmmm....you are right there, dceite.....what was maruti thinking when it launched the abs- wagon-r?????

Bangalore Guys , if you want to have a "dekho" of the swift , make a beeline for "The Forum" , they are setting up a stall for the swift in the foyer , it should be on display by now. I

Hmm nice looking car indeed ! just went thru the specs/feature lists etc and I might have waited for the Swift when I bought my car back in Feb, but on second thoughts...well no ....my budget was just abt 4L hence I wouldn't have liked to buy a base version for 4.4 on road and miss out on power windows, left side mirror, rear demister/wiper etc.

Superb package ,will wait to read road-tests and actual feedback from owners, but I get a feeling Maruti-Suzuki is providing too less for the money it is asking!
4.5 on road almost for the LXi and it has no LHS mirror, no power windows, no central locking, no front fogs ... not even a lamp in the luggage compartment!
pretty confusing isnt it ?
unless they want people to go for the VXi only which has most of teh above..hmm ;-)

Just drove it...

The exterior is stunning. The huge head lights, with those wheel archs and the huge alloy wheels makes it look like a beast.
The interiors are okie. In Zxi model the AC control is with feather touch knobs. And instead of red/blue lines shows the temp setting in digital disp. Due to long Q for the test drive, got very little time to drive it. The pickup at first gear with AC at 18 Deg and 5 people on board, was good.

Plus points are ride quality, turning radius, PS and short throw gear shifts.

Neg points are that the rear leg room is not comparable to palio or indica. The boot space is also minimalistic.

VXi is value for money. With that small boot space, not sure how many ZXi(5.5 onroad in bangalore) they will be able to sell.

Was watching NDTV yesterday at 8-ish.
here are the official prices -
LXI - 3.87L
ZXi - 4.85
I forgot the VXi pricing.
But this is the introductory price and it may go up as Maruti feels it will affect the WagonR sales to an extent.
It has acheived 86% indigenisation (i am guessing this stands for localisation) which will soon go upto 90%.
May go for a test ride tomorrow.

I did take a look at the vehicle on launch in Chennai. My friend test drove the vehicle and certified reasonably good ( test drive only within the premises).

I personally did not like the outlook of the vehicle. Iam disappointed by the looks of swift. It was the technical aspect that made me the choose this vehicle, if I had seen this before, I would not have initiated this at all. And the other lesson I got from this forum is not to go for the vehicle with its looks.

Let me hope as the more I see the vehicle, my feeling turns out positive on the looks of the vehicle as it did for Santro and Wagon-R
