Seems like this is the OEM that the car is going to have!

totally agree...
3.99 is surely the ex-showroom price....which means on-road about 4.3 for a car with not even a rear wiper/demister and which has 80 profile tyres ???
Its an ok price but for the better versions its gonna be touching the 5 mark.

So what if the sites show a deck. It isnot going to present thats what i can tell you with full confidence since i read the whole booklet of the swift.

p.s havenot you seen advertisements saying that accesories shown in the picture MAY not be a part of standard equipment.

The top two versions of the Fusion have this. So do the expensive cars (Accord's, Mondeo's, Superb's, Merc's etc).

But will the ZXi have the factory-fitted deck? That is the burning question.

Aesthetically the factory fitted deck is way better, but if it doesn't play MP3's, I personally would prefer a third party deck.

That seems a little far fetched...im guessing 10-11kmpl seems more like it.

they will also keep on selling don't worry
remember this is the company which has managed to sell three different versions of Alto as three different products & all of 'em are doing good
so don't worry about Maruti
but I am seriously starting to think as they will phase out M800 & Zen, replacing them by Alti 800 & Swift

as for Hyundai they will bring down cost of Getz but it won't bring in any money for Hyundai & chances are that Swift might also eat into Santro's high end model
the ideal thing for Hyundai to do would be to bring in CRDi of bot h Getz & Santro

Just my opinion

I too thought on the same lines. Phase out Zen, Bring down the cost of Wagon-R by another 20K or so. Hence the choices will be clear for the end users

CRDi on the getz and santro cannot be produced at current price levels...the engines are currently imported. Unless hyundai starts manufacturing these locally, the crdi santro and getz will be too expensive.

Drifter

didn't knew that, thanks for info drifter
but as long as they don't get CRDi in those cars & that too at low price (by producing locally) then in my opinion they will be No.2

I released the order for Zen day before yesterday. Was discussing with Maruti to hold it on till 27th May 2005 to take a look at Swift.

The on road price of basic version of Maruti Swift will not exceed Rs.4.5 Lakhs.( Rs.10k Higher than Zen Vxi) - Source Maruti dealer
