re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

The Mini Xylo does look well propotioned overall.

The Interiors if similar to that of the Xylo should be fine for the segment.

They may skimp on features to match a price. The dash shape though it may remain the same as in the Xylo may not match it in quality. The Xylo based pickup has a much poorer quality dash of the same shape, the plastic used is of an inferior quality to match the segment requirements and pricing. The same may happen for the mini Xylo as well.

I can see that they have added a cup holder near the gear stalk.

Seems like the bunny tooth is an integral part of the logo. Hence it can be added when it is ready to be launched.

Currently Mini Xylo, Maruti R3 and Honda Jazz(hopefully with the 1.5 L city engine after the Brio takes the 1.2 L current engine) are the options I am looking at.
I think R3 is in the segment above, and is not as compact or under 4 meters as Jazz or mini xylo. The small cars comparo for tall storage space is hence in Jazz (proven) & mini xylo (yet to see).

Also can be used for the 4X4 rotary selector in the proposed 4X4 version.

re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

I think this Vehicle will do well, especially in Semi-urban areas. If Mahindra price it right they have another winner on their hand like the Bolero . Mahindra and Mahindra will price it aggressively is my guess ,looking at their track record.

Positives going in its favor

Spacious for Five

Affordable price tag

Cheaper running costs

Higher Ground clearance

Sturdy

Luggage carrying capacity { Especially On the roof Carrier }

Mahindra service network .

Looking at the state of roads in Second tier cities , i feel this vehicle if positioned and priced correctly can be a money spinner for Mahindra and Mahindra .

Rear of Mini Xylo reminds me of Premier Rio. But looks like a good budget package.

Reminds me of the Daihatsu Terios from behind. So essentially this is like a big hatchback? How are they going to position this?Against cars like the Jazz,a big roomy hatchback?

One question. I remember reading that xylo has 185mm ground clearence. How does it compare to 160mm of Jazz? Have I got the GC reading of xylo all wrong? Because the main reason for favouring this tall vehicle to other car will be its GC (and the diesel option).

In addition to GC, the body on ladder chassis of Xylo gives it tougher underbelly. It is also significantly wider, taller and has frugal diesel engine.
